I had a hard time keeping up with what was going on .. my mind kept wondering , I`m not sure if I just was not interested or the story was not interesting , I think it was that the story is so complicated that I need to try again , and really listen . ill try again someday . if my opinion changes ill update my review . until then ill say the narrator did a fine job and the story was ok

42.5 hours for 1 credit ... what an awesome risk

just finished the omnibus . and I am very happy with this purchase.

the truth is I did not know what I was getting . I read The Cycle of Arawn: The Complete Trilogy (these books are nothing like) , enjoyed it. decided to risk a credit . this is an 8 book series, where are the rest?

I liked the idea of the book ,
I felt lost the whole time . I didn't know anything about Jake or Tom.no back story ., although with the surprise ending , looking back actually makes since.
I could not stand tom (secretive bastard) and I did not have any feelings for Jeff.

I did like the post apocalyptic feel of the book , struggling to find food or drink. and the ominous observer. she showed up at the end of every chapter .

narration was pretty good . no complaints no comments

overall it was an ok listen / I did finish the book .

sorry Michael Robertson, I wanted to like it , it just wasn't for me , but heads up , its got pretty good reviews on amazon

look..... if you are reading reviews trying to decide if you should get this book ...
do it ... you wont regret it ... spend that precious valuable credit .

i cant believe i waited so long

this book was in my wish list for over a year before I decided to try it..

I was pleasantly surprised and Will Patton did a fantastic job.

I wont try to tell you about the story that's what the description is for.

the story might be a little dated , but it is still relevant considering the current state of the world " I looking at you ISIS"

I tell you what , it certainly got me to thinking as to how I should maybe start preparing for ... well you know.. anything

anyway all this to say ... book....good

it is a classic for a good reason

this review is a little dated only because I have listened to 3 books since I have listened to this one . but with that , this will be an honest review.

I enjoyed this book . I listened to this book right after I listened to the Martian.,also a great book .
similar in a way that man will fight to survive no matter what obstacles

this book was enjoyable because , lets be honest, what's not to like about being stranded on an island.

they create a semi-modern life for themselves considering it was civil war era.

the only thing that had me off about the book was the engineer , he could do no wrong in the eyes of his ...worshipers, I mean island mates or fellow balloon wreck-ees . whatever you want to call them .

but, that was just a slight annoyance

I do not regret this book , and I will be listening again someday

I guess I`ma sucker for time travel.

Servant of Steel: Chaos Awakens was a good story

What made the experience of listening to Servant of Steel the most enjoyable?

although nothing stands out as the most enjoyable ...an honest review of this book would be that it was a good book that very much needed a different narrator.

Who was your favorite character and why?

no favorite

How could the performance have been better?

the truth is I don't know how it could have been better . I just know that the voice did not match the story . but this is just my opinion .. everybody has one and they all stink.

it only sometimes distracted me from the story

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

i did not mind turning it off and coming back to it later .. but that don't mean i did not enjoy the story

i will probably get the next book in the series.
