Historia
Tao is an immigrant fortune teller, traveling between villages with just her trusty mule for company. She knows from bitter experience that big fortunes come with big consequences…

A fun, well composed adventure. Absolutely fun, and well performed to boot. Did I mention succinct? (Unlike the 15 word requirement on reviews;)

I wasn’t expecting to so thoroughly enjoy the adventure which thrust me back in my youth both as the hero of the story but also as the young person who read it years ago. Great fun!

Historia
Katarina Ashowan was not made for courtly life. Sure, her father is the famous house witch of Daxaria so she was raised among majestic castles, proper manners, and royal expectations. But Kat is also a mutated witch whose power aligns predominantly with fire. She’s more comfortable riding horses or learning to fight than she is making polite conversation and wearing fancy dresses. Which is why her upcoming assignment—serving her best friend, Alina, the soon-to-be crowned Troivackian queen—is anything but ideal.

It’s a freaking fun adventure. The plot has some serious twists and turns, but most of them aren’t the most predictable- gotta love something new.

Historia
Bahzell Bahnakson of the Horse Stealer hradani had never wanted to be the champion of the War God. Unfortunately, the War God had insisted. Which was how he had found himself among hostile strangers in the Empire of the Axe - except that that was only the least of his problems. For a start, there was the Order of Tomanak, who were horrified that their deity had chosen a hradani as champion, and were resolved to rectify the matter in a most unpleasant fashion.

Historia
Hinduism is a very broad term for the religious practices and doctrines of the Indian people. This tradition is believed to have begun in about 1800 BCE with religious poems known as the Vedas. Hinduism is best known in the west through the doctrines of Advaita, the belief that there is only one ultimate reality. Advaitans, however, worshipped a range of icons that represented the separate manifestations of the ultimate Brahman.

My only complaint is the repetitive statement of certain things becomes … interruptive rather than enhancing.

GAK
Revisado: 02-05-15
What would have made Foundation better?
the book itself is quite good, and necessary for the rest of them... I read it first because it was Number 1 in a series, and I re-read it to remind myself of the key components and basis of the system.
What other book might you compare Foundation to and why?
Perhaps the beginning of Caves of Steel, or even the early parts of Ender's Game. This book sets up the environment, and the pertinent characters, essential to continue, but not excessively exciting in itself.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Perhaps it is related to when I first read Foundation, but the supercilious, bland voice which reads this book... I was ever so disappointed.
Stefan Rudnick please? this is my first Scott Brick, I think, and .... I'll sample stuff he writes before I buy another.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Foundation?
hmm none.
