I am not a fiction fan generally but this…
Revisado: 09-15-23
I purchased this audio book because I was too impatient to wait for the rest of the apple series. And…wow! This book touches some metaphysically distinct levels of wonder and uncertainty. Masterfully written and spoken. If I could give more than 5 stars, I certainly would.

Historia
Taken from writings, orations, and recorded observations of life, this audiobook selects the best of Native American wisdom and distills it to its essence in short, digestible quotes - perhaps even more timely now than when they were first written. In addition to the short passages, this edition includes the complete "Soul of an Indian", as well as other writings by Ohiyesa (Charles Alexander Eastman), one of the great interpreters of American Indian thought, and three great speeches by Chiefs Joseph, Seattle, and Red Jacket.

Truth, Honesty, & Generosity
Revisado: 02-02-23
Silence is golden. The naked truth is as a well tuned orchestra beckoning one’s heart strings to join. The “white man” has much to learn, me included. I am relieved to know we can still seek and find truth in the valiant cause of bringing honor to this land’s Native People. As a secondary social studies educator, I choose to create a safe space where curious minds can be cultivated in a diligent and infinite effort to compassionately listen first.

This short “Great Course” is a diamond in the rough. It’s well worth repeated listening and consideration. I’m grateful for Daniel N. Robinson’s mindful contributions to the logical and philosophical examination of historical thought processes and the relative implications that follow.

This is a fabulously written and performed novel relating Mormon 1950’s mindset drama. The character perceptions, oddly enough, still play out today. It gave me a good chuckle quite a few times. The cover art makes it look like a soft porn cowboy romance. So weird!?

Have you ever wondered why America, unlike virtually any other industrial nation, continues to show so much religious vitality? Or why are the varieties of religion found in the United States are so numerous and diverse? In this vigorous series of 24 lectures, Professor Allitt argues that the best way to look for explanations of this truly remarkable vitality and diversity is to study the nation's religious history. That's a task, though, that involves more than simply examining religion from the directions you might expect....

Claims to know “American Religious History?”
Revisado: 03-12-22
Without even recognizing the actual history and impact of Joseph Smith and his Book of Mormon on the expansion of the west and worldwide mission work, not to mention hundreds of “other/worldly” temples, which are found worldwide. Besides missing such a huge piece of the puzzle, it was an interesting listen.

Historia
Mary Magdalene is one of the most influential symbols in the history of Christianity - yet, if you look in the Bible, you'll find only a handful of verses that speak of her. How did she become such a compelling saint in the face of such paltry evidence? In her effort to answer that question, Cynthia Bourgeault examines the Bible, church tradition, art, legend, and newly discovered texts to see what's there.

Revisado: 07-02-20
I can add nothing to strengthen the worth of God’s word. All is strengthened in Him alone. Glory be to Him. Grace be to all. That being said, this is an epic reading from Max McLean. I listen to this everyday. Sometimes I think it would help if the chapters and verses were labeled for reference sake but then I just stop complaining and keep listening.
