This is about a 30 minute listen, and you won’t regret a single minute. I’m looking forward to learning more about the Jake Elwood universe. I can’t speak to character development in such a short sample, but I did like Tom and Horst. I will put more of Jake Elwood’s books on my wish list!

My favorite author, my favorite stories! I’ve read these books many times over the years and they never get old. It is such a pleasure to discover them on Audible now that my eyes are old and tired! The narrator is awesome! She gives just the right tone to each of the characters and her accent is exactly what I heard in my mind all those times I read the books in the past.

Always top quality writing...

Patricia Cornwell always delivers top quality writing. It is a pleasure to experience well-written text—text that my English teacher brain doesn’t have to edit or revise as I listen or read. Kay Scarpetta is an engaging character, as are the supporting characters of Benton, Lucy, and Morino. I have re-read all of the Scarpetta novels at least once a year and have now begun purchasing the audiobook versions so that I can enjoy “reading” as I work around the house. As I eagerly await the next Scarpetta novel, I’m listening to the audiobook version of the previous ones. It’s a win-win.
