Would you try another book from Lev Grossman and/or Mark Bramhall?
Never!
What could Lev Grossman have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Have something interesting happen. It just rambles on in an alcoholic haze, with uninteresting, worthless characters, doing absolutely nothing but getting drunk. It started out with such promise with an exciting premise, then fell flat on its face in a drunken stupor. What a shame!!
What aspect of Mark Bramhall’s performance would you have changed?
No performance could have saved this mess.
What character would you cut from The Magicians?
All of them.
Any additional comments?
So angry with myself for reading nearly 2/3 of this book, hoping against hope that something exciting or interesting might at last happen. Finally gave up, tired and disgusted with the endless drunken orgies!!

What would have made Kiss the Dead better?
Giving it more plot. Most of it feels like fill, fill, and more fill. I'm so sick of hearing about AB's lovers, and how she's such a bad-ass cop "just one of the boys." PLEASE go back to giving your poor, long-suffering readers a real story -- with plot and lots of action -- to read!
Would you ever listen to anything by Laurell K. Hamilton again?
Probably not. It's a waste of good money.
What does Kimberly Alexis bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
She's a good reader. What a shame she wasn't given a better written book to demonstrate her talent.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
All three. Some of the scenes -- like the ones blabbing away over nothing with the "guys" made me just plain furious! Where is the plot!

Ms Hamilton, I beg you to have more respect for your readers and give us something decent to sink our teeth into. You used to be the best in the business. Now it feels as if you're just throwing out a new AB book every year because you know you're supposed to. Your once devoted readers aren't going to put up with this forever. Please, take a little time and give us something fun and exciting to read again.
