One star because zero stars is not an option
Revisado: 09-20-17
What would have made Berkley Street better?
This is the worst audio book I've ever listened to. It seems like something a child wrote. Completely ridiculous. Could not and did not finish.
What could make this book better? Throwing it in the trash.

A fantastic tale!
Revisado: 01-14-15
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, I would recommend this book to any lover of Medieval history and fantasy. Ms Carey does a wonderful job of combining fantastical elements - such as dragons - with actual history - the feud over the English crown between Maude and Steven - and then weaves it into a story where belief is easily suspended, in which the heart races, aches, soars, and then aches again. I didn't want the book to end.
What other book might you compare Dragon's Keep to and why?
Fantasy meets historical fiction. I loved it.
What does Bianca Amato bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I chose this book because Bianca Amato read it - she is an amazing story teller. Her voice has a way of pulling me in. I could listen to her all day.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I wanted to listen to this book all the way through in one sitting. I was not able to, of course, but it was a treat to be able to listen to it. I just wish it hadn't ended!
Any additional comments?
There was a negative review in which the reviewer said this book was terrible, that she had to fast forward through the gruesome parts, and that she wouldn't recommend this book to anyone. To her I say, your loss. To others I say, take reviews with a grain of salt. This book was great and I just wish that there were more Carey books available on Audible.

Wonderful!
Revisado: 01-08-15
What did you love best about The Thirteenth Tale?
This is truly a book that is hard to stop listening to. Several stories are woven into one, sometimes literary, sometimes fantastical, sometimes lonely and heart wrenching, but always spell binding. The narrators do a fantastic job of moving the piece along. Would recommend this book to anyone, especially fans of Jane Erye.
What about Bianca Amato and Jill Tanner ’s performance did you like?
Bianca Amato always does an amazing job. She has a way of creating different characters and painting a new scene just by altering her inflection and pace. Really draws you in. Jill Tanner was also great!
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The importance of January 7th - it's wonderful!

Historia
In the spring of 1974, Calliope Stephanides, a student at a girls' school in Grosse Pointe, finds herself drawn to a chain-smoking, strawberry-blonde classmate with a gift for acting. The passion that furtively develops between them - along with Callie's failure to develop physically - leads Callie to suspect that she is not like other girls. In fact, she is not really a girl at all.

AWESOME narrator and very engaging story
Revisado: 08-20-14
Would you listen to Middlesex again? Why?
Yes, and I'd recommend it to anyone. It's engaging and outside the box. The story is not just about a hermaphrodite, but about three generations of a family, and all the complexities that come with immigration, love, and pursuing the American dream. Incredibly well done.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Middlesex?
It's not that common to find a male author who can write women - especially teenage girls - so well. Bravo!
What about Kristoffer Tabori’s performance did you like?
Great voices, really engaging. The narrator paints the scenes in your mind and has the ability to take you completely away, off to the world of Middlesex.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Laughed, cried, shouted, sighed. I was very engaged with this book.
Any additional comments?
This is a great roadtrip book. I listened to it as I drove across the country and was sad when it ended before my journey did - it was that good!

Historia
In 1989 Ken Follett astonished the literary world with The Pillars of the Earth, set in 12th-century England. Readers and listeners ever since have hoped for a sequel. At last, here it is. Although the two novels may be listened to in any order, World Without End also takes place in Kingsbridge, two centuries after the townspeople finished building their exquisite Gothic cathedral. The cathedral is again at the center of a web of love and hate, greed and pride, ambition and revenge.

WAY too much sex
Revisado: 08-20-14
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
If you don't care much about the story but you're into racy scenes, this is the book for you.
Has World Without End turned you off from other books in this genre?
I am forever turned off from Ken Follett books now. Why waste my time with him when there are so many great historical fiction writers out there who don't need to pump their books up with sex in order to sell them?
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
The core of the story is engaging - but it's destroyed by the over the top gratuitous sex. It's almost as if the author didn't feel confident enough in the story itself and had to add sex scenes to "engage" readers. No thanks, I see enough of that on TV and in the movies.
Any additional comments?
The narrator was fabulous. I'd listen to him read the dictionary!
