Drama worthy of C level acting

Somehow I did end of listening to this in its entirety but I did so in the same way I sometimes find myself not enjoying a LifeTime movie but watching anyway. The narration was laughable as it sounded to me like hearing a dress rehearsal for a very low budget production. The ending was hilariously awful.

Could not get past the raunch

I had zero interest in stomaching past the first 5 minutes or so. And if the raunchiness was necessary to tell the story than it’s not a story I would ever want to hear.

Disturbing, one after the other

Fascinating and dreadful. When the mood strikes, this is the perfect way to get the twisted fix of sick listening. The stories are terribly disturbing but sometimes that's just what I like.

As Real As She is Funny

She is so good at making honesty funny. I love how simple she keeps her humor, nothing over the top or in your face, just simple, honest hilarity! I'll be keeping an eye out for more by Mindy!

I'm not sure what I expected

I love Ellen, truly I do. With that being said, I don't know why I didn't love this book. Perhaps I wanted to hear more about her life or feel like I was getting to know her better? It didn't seem to be based much on reality and that must have been more what I was looking for. I still love Ellen :)

I Need An Esther In My Life!

I listened to most of this with my mouth agape at Esther's brilliance and insight. The one and only thing I didn't thoroughly enjoy was feeling distracted during chapter 6 by some pretty awful mouth breathing. But aside from that, this was fascinating and inspired me to look for more works by Esther.

This read has a strong start and a strong end. There were lulls in the middle for setting the scene I could have done with less of but overall this was a fascinating, dark and disturbing story that I would recommend to any Murderino.

A Let Down After "I'll Be Gone in the Dark"

Granted I didn't get very far and maybe it got better but I had a very hard time getting into this book. It bored me to tears before anything interesting happened. It was a little long-winded in describing the setting for my taste.

More Historical References Than I'd Have Liked

I was looking for something more current and not so much based on ancient Rome with all kinds of references to really old, dead people. The story line is from a time so far gone that I didn't last long. If I enjoyed ancient history more I'm sure I could have enjoyed finishing this book.

Back to back guilty pleasure

It's somewhat troubling that I enjoy this as much as I do. Some of the stories included in this were shockingly horrific and all of them brutal. In my opinion, anyone who enjoys true crime stories will appreciate this collection. I like the narrator for this genre.
