It's a good story, the narrator is great. I have issues with the way they put this recording together. When there's dialogue, it sounds like it's in a tunnel for some reason. And sound effects are not necessary in books. Please stop. It's distracting. I listen to books in the car and sound effects are not a good thing. Plus, the story should stand on its own.

Lose the sound effects

This is a great story, the narrators are wonderful. But get rid of the sound effects. I listen to audible in the car and when you add in car honks, beeps, horns, gunshots, and crash sound effects... Books don't need all of that anyway.

Whoever put this audio together....

The short stories are delightfully off the wall and I love it. The narrator is good too. But whoever put this audio together did a terrible job. Whenever the narrator states the title of the next story it's done so a breath after the sentence of the last story and if you're not ready for it, you're confused as to what happened to the last story. A pause in between the last sentence and the next story title would've gone a long way. It sounds like someone tried cutting corners and jammed the audio together. That's disappointing because Little's tales are bizarre and you need a second to absorb them.

Well there wasn't any suspense, really. The story starts right off with what's happening behind closed doors. Not really an issue but it got so outlandish I didn't care by the end. Jack's reasoning as to why this is all happening made no real sense, to me. Millie was the only likeable character. I enjoyed her a lot and I hope George Clooney did too! The narrator was wonderful. She kept me going with this book.
It's an okay story, quick read, my first by this author and likely my last.

I love dark retellings of fairy tales. This one is dark but after 12 hours, I'm over the whole thing. Peter wasn't captivating as a character. He talks children into going to his realm, but then just leaves them to either make it to the Devils (I guess they're the Lost Boys) or not, which makes the endeavor pointless. I have 6 hours left of this story and I don't care what happens to any of them anymore. I've heard such high praise for Brom, but I'm bored at this point. It's an okay story. I don't know that I'll listen to it again once I'm finished.

Horribly disturbing story. Before you rail against Ketchum for the subject matter, know that this book is based on actual people, which is even more disturbing. He retold a true crime story, which a lot of writers do. If it turned your stomach and scared the hell out of you (& it should) then he did his job. Ketchum is really good in general at giving his readers the chills anyway.
