Historia
In the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election, Donald Trump and many around him, including certain other elected Republican officials, intentionally breached their oath to the Constitution: they ignored the rulings of dozens of courts, plotted to overturn a lawful election, and provoked a violent attack on our Capitol.

I liked that she narrated the book. I’m a registered democrat and appreciate she puts country first. Not that I would vote for her for president, I don’t like the republican policies and very happy with President Biden. But it’s comforting to know all republicans aren’t trumpers.

Historia
From 1999 to 2009, U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle recorded the most career sniper kills in United States military history. The Pentagon has officially confirmed more than 150 of Kyles kills (the previous American record was 109), but it has declined to verify the astonishing total number for this book. Iraqi insurgents feared Kyle so much they named him al-Shaitan ("the devil") and placed a bounty on his head.

Rarely find it hard to finish a book.
Revisado: 06-16-19
I have never read a book written by some one so self absorbed as Chris Kyle. His aim in life was to kill as many Iraqi's as possible and showing so little concern about taking a life, never mind that they were defending their country, their god and their home and families. As a sniper he had all the advantage, there was nothing heroic in his actions. If you are or like an ego maniac "he man" then maybe this book would be to your liking. To me it was just another appalling chapter in a war instigated for money by men who had no thought for the hundreds of thousands of lives that it affected.

Second Time Listening...
Revisado: 02-14-16
I began reading Into The Wilderness series 3 or 4 years ago. I love long historical novels so these have fit very nicely into my library. When book six "The Endless Forest" became available I bought it to finish out the series. I decided then to go back and read the entire series again in order, with no distractions. I must say, if possible they were much more enjoyable the second time around. How can anyone find fault with Kate Readings narration, perfect. I highly recommend the series.

A Good Read
Revisado: 09-05-15
I was hesitant to buy this book from the reviews I had read. However I enjoyed it, I thought it wrapped up the series in a neat bundle. It reviewed just enough that it brought the series alive again. Through the years I had forgotten some of the story.

Total Waste of a credit...Don't waste your time!
Revisado: 09-05-15
Would you try another book from Ronald Kessler and/or Alan Sklar?
No
What could Ronald Kessler have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
If you are a right wing conservative it will right up your alley.
Any additional comments?
How can the Democratic Presidents of the last 50 years all be so horrible to work for and Republicans all be so sweet and accommodating.

Just could not get into the book...
Revisado: 11-20-14
I bought the book because of the reviews...time period and length....I like long books, something I can listen to for a week. For some reason I just couldn't get into the book, the narration is not good. I'm on chapter 19 and I just don't get it. It's a waste of a good credit.

Historia
In the winter of 1918, at the height of World War I, history's most lethal influenza virus erupted in an army camp in Kansas, moved east with American troops, then exploded, killing as many as 100 million people worldwide. It killed more people in 24 weeks than AIDS has killed in 24 years, more in a year than the Black Death killed in a century. But this was not the Middle Ages, and 1918 marked the first collision between modern science and epidemic disease.

Really didn't know what to expect..
Revisado: 03-16-13
I read the reviews, and was interested in the subject matter. I could listen to Scott Brick read a menu, so I didn't see how I could go wrong, I wasn't. John M. Barry told the story of the 1918 Influenza pandemic, in vivid detail, and of course Scott Brick was true to form in his narration. And, I will never miss a year getting my flu shot again.

Historia
Russka is the story of four families who are divided by ethnicity but united in shaping the destiny of Russia. From a single riverside village situated at one of the country’s geographic crossroads, Russia’s Slav peasant origins are influenced by the Greco-Iranian, Khazar, Jewish, and Mongol invasions. Unified by this one place, the many cultures blend to form a rich and varied tapestry. Rutherfurd’s grand saga is as multifaceted as Russia itself.

Not Rutherfurd's Best,but very good!
Revisado: 02-21-13
I am a huge fan of Rutherfurd, I love big books and history. I did listen to Russka twice back to back to firmly implant the family names in my mind, and I found I enjoyed it more the second time around. The book gave me a little different view of Russian history than I had. All I can say is, it has to be good to listen to it twice. I found the narration of Wanda McCaddon very good as well. I had enjoyed her in Sarum.

Herman Wouk's sweeping epic of World War II, which begins with The Winds of War and continues here in War and Remembrance, stands as the crowning achievement of one of America's most celebrated storytellers. Like no other books about the war, Wouk's spellbinding narrative captures the tide of global events - and all the drama, romance, heroism, and tragedy of World War II - as it immerses us in the lives of a single American family drawn into the very center of the war's maelstrom.

I feel as if I have lived through the war.
Revisado: 04-18-12
Kevin Pariseau again is outstanding in his narration. I am old enough to vaguely remember WWII. I remember seeing newsreels of prisoners being shot, pictures of the concentration camps. I now feel like I have been there. By the time you are finished reading (listening) to this book each character is a person you know well, I read the hard cover of this book years ago and loved it, but the audio version is so superior. After 50 some hours later of listening, I was very sad to have it end and actually went back several chapters and listened again.

One of the best WWII books ever written.
Revisado: 04-18-12
I, as many others read this book in the hard cover, I watched the mini series as well. The audio version surpasses all. I loved it...I'm a avid history buff, will read most anything to do with history. The detail is fantastic, you feel you know the characters.
The narration is great, Kevin Pariseau is probably one of the best, he does women, you know who they are without being told, he sings as well. I'm so happy to have this book in my library. Now I will listen to War and Remembrance.
