Historia
Verteran investigative journalist Stevie Cameron first began following the story of missing women in 1998, when the odd newspaper piece appeared chronicling the disappearances of drug-addicted sex trade workers from Vancouver's notorious Downtown Eastside. It was not until February 2002 that pig farmer Robert William Pickton would be arrested, and 2008 before he was found guilty, on six counts of second-degree murder. These counts were appealed and in 2010, the Supreme Court of Canada rendered its conclusion.

Humanize Victims
Revisado: 03-21-24
As a true crime reader, there are thousands of books and documentaries about serial killers. Like other true crimes readers, you soak it all in, get an idea about the killer, and feel sorry for the victims. But On The Farm takes it a step further by humanizing the victims. While this book paints a picture of William Pickton, a brief description of his childhood and influences. The author also took the time to discuss about the victims and their lives. How they are missed by their families. How these women had to live, dealing with their addiction, falling victim to Pickton. how their families are left to pick up the pieces and try to keep their memories alive. On The Farm is a good balance between understanding who the killer is, the victims, and the investigators. As well the difficulties and short comings of the investigations. The sheer magnitude of trying to convict a killer with no body, thousands of DNA samples and only bits and pieces of bone fragments and human remains. This is one of the most disturbing crimes in modern history and this book does an excellent job of explaining this complicated and horrifc crime. While maintaining the humanity of victims.

Over Thinker Help Guide
Revisado: 06-23-22
This books gives a basic outline on how to recognized some bad and unhealthy mental habits that may prevent you from completing a task. As well helpful metal tricks to retrain your brain and focus. I like the advice of creating a Not To Do List. we are taught a To Do List is the best way to complete a task but what about dealing with distraction and impulses. How do we tame our inner need to quite, fight being bored and stay focus on task that isn't enjoyable. The author does an excellent job on mental tricks and behaviors to avoid falling into the " I'll get it done later," "oh wells," and "am just gonna check my phone, just for a second" and never follow through.

Historia
Heather McGhee’s specialty is the American economy—and the mystery of why it so often fails the American public. From the financial crisis of 2008 to rising student debt to collapsing public infrastructure, she found a root problem: racism in our politics and policymaking. But not just in the most obvious indignities for people of color. Racism has costs for white people, too. It is the common denominator of our most vexing public problems, the core dysfunction of our democracy and constitutive of the spiritual and moral crises that grip us all.

We All Lose At The Sum Zero Game
Revisado: 02-06-22
Heather McGee did a fantastic job breaking down the economic and impractical use of racism within our society. On an economic level it's a zero sum game. What benefits people of color is at both figurative and literally at the expense of white Americans. She exposes this rhetoric and reveals what many civil rights activists have been saying for decades. The any social benefits that up life POC committed up lifts ALL communities. Explaining why so many middle class white Americans have ot backwards and continue to fall into an economic spiral of destruction. But she also gives example of majority white communties letting go racism and seeking for economic growth that recognized immigrant and POC economic struggle and bridge support. How this has actually benefited white commintues that are on brink of economic, social or moral collapse. Embracing one another is key to our prosperity. No long believing the Zero Sum and now allow our cultural and race be the excuse to further the destruction of of nation and its future.

Historia
In 1978, Laurie Strode survived an encounter with Michael Myers, a masked figure who killed her friends and terrorized the town of Haddonfield, Illinois, on Halloween night. Myers was later gunned down, apprehended, and committed to Smith's Grove State Hospital. For forty years, memories of that nightmarish ordeal have haunted Laurie and now Myers is back once again on Halloween, having escaped a routine transfer, leaving a trail of bodies in his wake.
