Historia
"Johnny Butler was just four years old when his Lenni Lenape "father," Cuyloga, spoke the words that siphoned out his white blood and put Indian blood in its place. Now the Yengwes, the white soldiers, were taking him back to his "true" home. Inside of him hate and anger spread like poisons. The Light in the Forest, by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Conrad Richter, will touch a new generation with its lasting truths.

The light in the forest
Revisado: 11-08-24
The narrator of this novel was giving precise and accurate feelings of the protagonist. And the other characters in the book. the feelings that true sun felt when walking through the forest or being with his native american family, hunting and fishing and the simple joy of everyday life. i first read this novel when I was in my teenage years. at first I didn't like the book because it had a very sad ending. i appreciate it more now because it shows the complexity of human nature. true, son after spending some time with his wife family and he saw the child on the raft. I was about to be ambushed by his Native American comrades.
Has compassion for these people and warns them away. evils were committed by both sides during this period of colonial america. sun may have betrayed his native american comrades, but he did it out of compassion for a the white settlers kid. he does it because gordy, his younger brother by his white family was the only really show him any kindness. his white family automatically expected him to behave like a colonial white settler. And punished him for when he was slow to reintegrate into their way of life. there is an upside Conrad. Riker wrote a second book called a country of strangers, which is a companion novel. Two light on the forest. it is similar to light on the force following the trials of stone girl and her half white half native american sun, who are returned to white civilization after spending time and captivity. on the inside jacket of the book Conrad. Riker writes that in the latter pages of a country of strangers the readers might have an answer what happened to truesn at the end of the light of the forest. i hope audible decides to make a audio book of this as well.

I stopped listening to this several chapters in.
Revisado: 03-05-22
I stopped listening to this several chapters in. the story was very boring it explored a lot of the main characters backstory but never really got to the meat and potatoes of what the plot was about. so I returned an exchange for another book.

The most important dystopian novel of our time..
Revisado: 08-16-21
this novel was very important. we slowly see Mia character being brainwashed by the circle which is essentially a cult. occult where they believe that they are the future and that everything they do is good. they disregard the fact that privacy sometimes necessary for own personal well-being. spoiler alert Mia is still committed today do you have the circle even though it has left her friend Annie and a catatonic state. and her friend Mercer killed himself to avoid being pursued by the other circulars. spoiler alert one of the three wise men warns that the circle will become a tyrannical Force where everything is controlled through them all the information all bank and money transactions. the government is controlled by them by transparent government officials who disappear at the even question or criticize the circle. not everything needs to be known. other dystopian novels use either religious or ideological dystopian archetypes. this one presents one for our modern age and an era where we have almost virtually no privacy.

I'll have always loved how Kim thought can bring the lives of simple ordinary people in the medieval times to life. he reminds us of our humanity that the people back then were like us they had their own hopes and dreams fears and concerns and daily struggles.

must listen for persons struggling with faith.
Revisado: 10-28-19
the visitation is I have to say one of Frank's perrette's best works. in this book he emphasized a lot of problems that many Christians run into and many issues that Christians are in county with the modern church and how the modern Church cares more about tradition and hierarchy than about the people. they're more attached to a tradition or idea of g and try to put Jesus in a box to fit into their idea of what a Christian means to be.
