Ok for a thriller
Revisado: 03-14-25
The book was fine. I enjoyed how it connected to "the Silent Patient" in that a few characters had crossovers. The story was ok, but not great; some of it was long, unnecessarily winding and frankly a little dull. The thing that pulled me out of the immersion most was the narrator's awful american accent. Made my ears bleed!

Bad plot.
Revisado: 02-08-25
The performances were really good. But the plot was just.... bad. Throw in some suspense, some plot twists. This is predictable and a little messy. More effort could have been done in the writing.

Historia
A new killer is stalking the streets of London’s East End. Though newspapers have dubbed him 'the Torso Killer’, this murderer’s work is overshadowed by the hysteria surrounding Jack the Ripper’s Whitechapel crimes. The victims are women too, but their dismembered bodies, wrapped in rags and tied up with string, are pulled out of the Thames - and the heads are missing….

Thrilling story
Revisado: 07-24-24
I enjoyed this book. If there were a few things I would comment on, it would be the slight "holier than thou" air of the narrator, although I do acknowledge that for the set time it doesn't sound entirely implausible or out of place. The story was over rather abruptly, considering I knew going in that there was a sequel. Looking forward to hearing "murder" as well.

SLOPPY
Revisado: 07-22-20
Is no one gonna mention the inconsistencies? In the very beginning, she mentions «th latest news on Monika Lewinsky and Bill Clinton’s impeachment». Later, she mentions Pharrell William’s «Happy», which came out in 2013. Then, she mentions «the Truman Show, a move that had just come out on DVD» which came out in 1998?
Sloppy!

Good for being so bad
Revisado: 12-25-18
The story is fine. Just fine. Not great.
The narrator sounds extremely whiney and itwas seriously hard to listen to at times. The Author really needs to stop leanind on filler words. These books would have been half as long if the author didn’t keep repeating everything that happened, even immediately afterwards. And if I never heard the word «since» again, I’d be thrilled. «I took a bite, since I was hungry.» «I nodded, since I agreed.» «I shrugged, since I didn’t know.» «I agreed, since she had a good point.» «I drank it, since I was thirsty» Well, you get the point.
The only reason I suffered through the horrible narrating and writing skills was because the story was a decent idea and I wanted to know how it would end. This book is the definition of mediocre and is further dragged down by the narrating.
