Soon felt like I was listening to a documentary of sociology. At first I thought it was interesting but then sounded more like a story line working with groups twords harmony or conflict. Sounding like a scientific study of human behavior than how to change people's mind by the influence you can have on the person in a short moment. Let alone what techniques for the long term intention. I went half way through the book, when this book is more than 7 hours. So I just returned it.

I have read many books by this author perhaps almost all of them and am grateful for them all. Except I am not all satisfied with this book. I'm not gonna give it a bad rating because Maybe I bought this book with a different intention. See it's titled entitlement cure. I know I'm an entitled person at a very young age and I knew I come from a line of Descendency that are entitled. Not that we saw that as a bad thing completely. So now I wanted some help for that and sadly the first 5 chapters of this book just really criticize and put a person down for being like that. I gotta say I do not agree with the author, we know that we're entitled people, we just don't know how to change it cause it's not as simple as just giving up a cigarette. It's a combination of things. He finally goes into that detail on chapter 6. Nevertheless it's still sounds like a recovery session relatible to anybody who is trying to stop a bad habit.
In the first 5 chapters it seems like the author's intentions for this book was for others to read how to put up with us or work with us.
As I continue with the book the following chapters seem to Grow into Helpful advisories and techniques. Yet I still question the definition of Entitlement that this author has. I know people that are
Highly educated , hard-working and persistent that are quite entitled people. They do find success but because they're entitled, people really don't like them. Nevertheless they do what needs to get done to have a successful carrier. The author defines entitled people more by the ones who don't get the work done and still believe they're deserving, a know it all or egotistical.
So the book continues back and forth as if directed to the one entitled but later claiming it's for the one who is working with the one that is en⁶titled. Chapter after chapter till chapter 13.
I value chapter 13, it now relating to what others have to deal with in reguards to myself. Chapter 14 had more helpful advice that could relate to the majority. Chapter 15 felt like he had gotten to the short of successful definition of entitled I was looking for. Nevertheless it seems to focus on getting out of your shell and on to a vulnerable spot. The last chapter of the book is where he uses Christianity to take a weight off of people's shoulders to see life in a Different manner. Book hardly says anything religious, not something to critize or get annoyed about 🙄. Seems more like bible haters to give bad ratings for that.

this book was recommended by an American friend. Decided to get it to listen to and was surprised at how much I agreed with it. My parents came to America from a country under a Civil War. So I had been taught of this political manipulation growing up. Not to mention that the Bible talks about the rise and fall of America (Revelation 13). so its about time America realizes this great danger that like a domino is set to happen in our lifetime

I do door to door sales. So I didn't feel like this book was for me I felt like it was more for corporate negotiations that needed to haggle. Like for example selling a house or a deal to a bussiness group of people. When you're selling for a company that already has the price that can't be raised or lowered but you could add more products onto it this book doesn't seem like for you. Still enjoyed the way he presented and told his stories

I'm not going to say it was as resourceful as his other books but that might be because I've read almost all of them. nevertheless even though I've read the majority of his books I haven't fallen short with this book in any way. I am very appreciative that I got this book and listen to it cuz I feel like it was what I need to realize and to manage in my life that I've been neglecting for so long. I grew up pretty isolated and independent. so I continue to do so today. and even though I am successful I feel like I need to realize that I've been lacking by not making myself socially depended on others. my job has to do a lot with social interactions with others but I've never really depended on them. this book goes over all those details and has he realized how much I've been depriving myself of improvement by not taking the resources that others have to give me by social connections and interactions and work related. not to mention the smothering I might be doing to the small number of people that are willing to give me their time. I never thought I would be a type of person to do that but with the examples he gives I can't cut myself out of that category anymore.

I've read almost all of Henry Clouds AUDIBLE books. I'm happy that there was still so much to learn and relate to myself from this one. it goes deep and I felt these challenges he spoke about in my own life that I'm lacking. I noticed he mentioning a lesson/story here or there that have been mentioned from other books but it wasn't at all a repetition of others into one. to me felt refreshing to hear small things I've noticed from other books. Those being tools we need to make sure we are not lacking of to be successful.

He talks about all different types of relationship trust issues. romantic, relatives, business, etc. That feeling of being uncomfortable with someone even through they seem to be a nice person who hasn't done anything wrong but you don't know why has to do with lack of trust. he talks on how to recognize the trust issues that not only we have for other but that we lack in ourselves and people can have twords us. Than steps on how to not fall in deception, how to protect yourself. Who to trust and how to go through a process in rebuilding trust.

I can't say there was anything said that I disagree with. it makes sence. I've read most of his books so I noticed past story references. Yet perhaps like a great movie you don't want it to end I felt like the book could kept going into even deeper psychological aspect of trust, how it works and the forms of manipulations to avoid, or something else. Great full to have read

I have already listened to many of this author's books but I am happy to say that he continues to present many new topics or form of perspective that makes you look even deeper into yourself. I feel like I need to listen to this book again because like a wonderful movie the second time around you're able to capture new things. I have been I have been on the journey to try to become a better version of myself and I feel like this book has been able to go to the following level for that

I appreciate it. I'll say I agreed with perhaps around 85 to 90% of it. I considered this man a lot more moralistic but it seems like he presents beliefs that can be kind of Gray. nevertheless I can relate to many perspectives in the manner in which he decides to present his points. he is to the point and he doesn't take a lot of time and says what he needs to say in a short amount of time. so I feel as if it is educational and reasonable. Except that one of his last chapters seemed farfetch and unmoralistic to what I could relate to so I only listen to half of it and I skipped it.

love the biblical reference. the books this author has made has helped me to continue to grow. an i never want to go back to past behavior. that being the best advice twords doing that. over and over again the examples given i can relate with. the list of steps or things to work on are understandable. love how it isn't about scolding but about acknowledging the mistake and steps to not repeat it.
