Main character is not very bright
Revisado: 03-20-25
If you find yourself in strange surroundings would you not be a bit more careful and try to adapt instead of acting like you are still in modern day USA? It's also highly unlikely that a male from that time would accept her behaviour. The story it's not believable and the main character not very likeable which made the book hard to finish.

Historia
Kitty Roberts spends her days searching for the perfect home for two...until her boyfriend dumps her. Devastated, she flees to a tiny seaside village called Pennystrand, where she spent golden summers as a child, before her family fell apart. At first, Kitty’s dramatic escape proves to be exactly what she needs—golden sunsets over warm, sandy beaches, lovably eccentric new neighbors, and even a blush-inducing run-in with Cory Hudson, a floppy-haired local surfer with a heart-stopping smile.

Great author but not loving the reading.
Revisado: 02-22-25
I love the author but the narrator ruined it a bit for me. It was sometimes difficult to distinguish between the characters, and she works so hard to make the story come alive that it sometimes sounds childish and overly exciting. Still a good book though.

It was so boring.
Revisado: 01-22-25
I wish I could give a positive review but this book was so boring I couldn't even finish it. The narration was not bad but not goid either, it was difficult to distinguish between the characters, and they sounded older than they were.

A little too much Hallmark
Revisado: 12-06-24
I am sorry to say that I didn't like it. The story is too short and it felt unfinished and simplified.. The voice of the male character sounds strained and unnatural.

Historia
When best-selling author Carrie McClelland visits the windswept ruins of Slains Castle, she is enchanted by the stark and beautiful Scottish landscape. The area is strangely familiar to her but she puts aside her faint sense of unease to begin her new novel, using the castle as her setting, and one of her own ancestors, Sophia, as her heroine. Then Carrie realizes her writing is taking on a life of its own and the lines between fact and fiction become increasingly blurred.

The story
Revisado: 11-24-24
It is s good book but it takes a while to get into it and the narration is okay, the main character sounds like she is very very young which is a bit odd, but after a while you get used to it

Nice story
Revisado: 10-21-24
I like the story, it was an easy listen, albeit a bit slow. The narrator made the main character sound older which disturbed me in the beginning , but she was great with the Scottish accent, and at separating the different characters. I'll probably try another book from the same author.

Not her best book
Revisado: 06-18-24
Possible Spoiler!!!
I like the author but this was not one of her best books; the main character felt like a bit of a doormat that kept chasing someone that told her he wanted nothing to do with her. The narrator wasn't bad but made almost everyone sound sad and forlorn. Not a hit for me.

Nice people but a little slow story
Revisado: 04-18-24
I liked the people and the story wasn't bad but it was a little long-winded and I found myself tuning out on and off, but it was still okay. The male narrators had bit of a problem with female voices.

Nah..
Revisado: 03-02-24
Simple and quite boring. The story line is way too simple and the male main character "saves" the female character. It seems to be written for a younger audience. It is a short story but I still had problems finishing it. The narration is not bad at all but the mail narrator has problems doing the female voice and makes her sound like an airhead. The female narrator does a great job.

A bit forced and boring
Revisado: 02-19-24
The narration is somewhat stilted and the storyline is so 'easy' and uninteresting even for this genre. Not a huge fan of the format either, when they add surrounding sounds and 4 good mornings that is supposed to come from different people. Couldn't even finish it even though it was so short.
