Historia
Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

I am not a horror fan by any stretch of the imagination. But I am a fan of Stephen King! He can write a book like no other, world build and character develope like no other - so I stick to his non-horror novels. This one leans more towards fantasy rather than horror (Though there is a bit of gore here and there), so I was able to enjoy it (And his writing!). It is a warm tale about a boy and his dog and their adventures told in the fascinating way in which only Stephen King can - a delightful twist on an old foundation - a foundation filled with giants, mermaids, a big red cricket, a space princess, pots of gold, a trickster (or two), loss, hope, and yes, a boy and his dog! If you are on the fence, like I was, I would suggest getting it. I am glad I took the plunge! And for the record, this is the only audio book that I have ever binge listened to! Yes, it's that good!

I found this little gem while sitting by the beach on our first warm day of spring. It turned out to be perfect for the moment I was having! I wanted a short story for just an afternoon listen. Alice Hoffman, author of, "Practical Magic", is one of my favorite authors, so it wasn't too hard for me to decide to get this audio book! Once again, she did not disappoint! And once aggain, it is a delightful tale with her ability to draw you in, make you feel love for the characters, root for them, cry with them and offer them your hope! Awwww, all the feelings, once again! Thank you, Alice for weaving your magickal keyboard into a beautifully written and entertaining short story, that I have now added to my list of favorite books of yours!

Historia
In this first-ever episode of Living the New Science, I share emerging ideas that challenge everything we believe about how our world works. We’re learning that the human mind and body are not separate and distinct from their environment – but a packet of pulsating energy constantly interacting with a vast sea of energy. These new theories detailed in my book, The Field replace the reductive world view of modern man – a life of separation and isolation with a view of connection. Our human potential can soar far higher than what conventional science tells us about ourselves. ...

I am so grateful she is doing these podcasts. I haven't finished them all, but I will. They are a perfect companion to her books, especially, "The Field"! Finally, someone explains scientifically what I've instinctively known all my life about reality and how the Universe works!

Beautiful weave.
Revisado: 11-30-24
Once again the Outlander Universe doesn't disappoint! This story is a beautiful weave of both Jamie's recovery from the flogging of Capitan Jack Randall and his bond with his lifelong friend Ian (Just prior to Ian and Jenny's wedding). The characters are thrust into adventure, lust, betrayal, a good old fashioned Scottish brawl or two recov5, and deep loss - all within the span of 3 hours - yet the story is written as such that you get drawn in and dont feel reushed. It's a good afternoon listen that will add to the already established characters as well as somewhat of a back story. If you love the Outlander Series, listen to this book!

Historia
Clare and Henry have known each other since Clare was six and Henry was 36. They were married when Clare was 23 and Henry was 31. Impossible but true, because Henry is one of the first people diagnosed with Chrono-Displacement Disorder: periodically his genetic clock resets and he finds himself misplaced in time, pulled to moments of emotional gravity from his life, past and future. His disappearances are spontaneous, his experiences unpredictable, alternately harrowing and amusing.

Historia
Fifteen years ago, Alice Hoffman received a diagnosis that changed everything about the life she'd been living. Most significant - aside from the grueling physical ordeal she underwent - was the way it changed how she felt inside and what she thought she ought to be doing with her days. Now she has written the book that she needed to read then. In this honest, wise, and upbeat guide, Alice Hoffman provides a road map for the making of one's life into the very best it can be.

Historia
For over 300 years, a curse has kept the Owens family from love - but all of that is about to change. The novel begins in a library, the best place for a story to be conjured, when beloved aunt Jet Owens hears the deathwatch beetle and knows she has only seven days to live. Jet is not the only one in danger - the curse is already at work. A frantic attempt to save a young man’s life spurs three generations of the Owens women, and one long-lost brother, to use their unusual gifts to break the curse as they travel from Paris to London to the English countryside.

Another PM masterpiece
Revisado: 03-30-24
Another Practical Magick masterpiece! We dive deep in to the history of our favorite aunts, Jet and Franny - with the added bonus of thier beloved brother Vincent (A new name to the Owen's family saga). Alice Hoffman does not disappoint in her writing of this tale, with her usual flair for rich history, colorful character traits, magnetic draw toward love (no matter how hard you try not to), unspeakable and heartbreaking loss, and yes, the usual family curse (with a refreshing twist). With a dash - here and there- of magickal wisdom, Alice once again doea not disappoint. If you are as in love with this series as I am, then this is a must read (listen)! Don't hesitate, get the book! I promise, you won't be disappointed.
