The narrator does a very good job bringing you into the story, his pacing is perfect and his different voices are believable. The story itself is very detailed and does flow well. I will admit I made it to the 1:38 mark. I like horror, I don't like misogyny, rape, torture porn or attempted suicide all within the first half of a book. If those are your things, enjoy!! If not, stay away.

I enjoyed this story. I was kept wondering all the way, which is a nice change for me. The narrator kept a good pace with engaging voices that I could easily tell apart.

I love a good "not exactly happy" ending. Weston is a personal favorite author of mine and Ray as narrator really brought the characters to life.

If You Like King, You Will Like Bentley Little !!

Horrific, not horror

I will admit I am only half way through this book but I honestly have zero desire to continue it. Within the first half of the book there are the following rather graphic scenes: rape, infanticide, a child eaten to death by "animals", adult incest and the main character can't seem to hold a conversation with a woman without getting an erection and then feeling self humiliation for it. I love horror. Cosmic horror especially, but this is not that. It is just a bunch of poorly written characters either doing awful things or having awful things happen to them.
