Historia
The killings that once plagued New Orleans are cropping up again in Seattle. The local office is stumped. I’m called out to lend a fresh set of eyes, and my unique magical touch. It’s only when I get there that I realize the Seattle office isn’t stumped at all. They’re being silenced by the Mages’ Guild, a corrupt magical institution that doesn't want word to get out of what is plaguing the city. Worse, news of my magic might’ve slipped down to the underworld, hitting the ears of some extremely powerful demons.

Boring at times but a nice listening
Revisado: 05-20-23
The adaptation is nice. At some points the music was too loud to hear the voices correctly.

So bad, so so bad...
Revisado: 02-15-20
I’ve read so many reviews about how magical this book is. And I tried so hard to find that magic but it’s just not there. We have evil people who justify their evil actions with sh*ty childhood and no prospects for a better future. And I agree. It’s f*cking hard to get somewhere when your “family” and life conditions just bring you down all the time.
But they did have a choice. And once they’d grown up, they could change the way they lived. They just DECIDED not to.
So, no matter what sh*ty things happened to them, I can’t find the supposed magic in their feelings and actions. There is nothing magical about brutality, treating women like sh*t, acting on impulses and choosing a low way over and over again. Nope. That just didn’t work for me.
And even the dramatic events at the end did not make me feel any kind of sympathy for the main characters.
Wasted time for listening to this one. :(

Historia
Bennett Fox walked into my life on one hell of a crappy Monday morning. I was late for the first day at my new job - a job I’d now have to compete for, even though I’d already worked eight years to earn it, because of an unexpected merger. While I lugged my belongings up to my new office, a meter maid wrote me a parking summons. She’d ticketed a long line of cars - except for the Audi parked in front of me, which happened to be the same make and model as mine. Annoyed, I decided to regift my ticket to the car that had evaded a fine.

When a jacka*s is nothing more than a jacka*s
Revisado: 02-03-20
I’m very proud of myself for finishing this book because there were soooo many moments when I was rolling my eyes and felt like deleting the audiobook altogether.
I love the voices of Andi and Sebastian but I just couldn’t stand the main characters, especially the guy. Bennett is such a jerk, sexist, mean and shallow person. Throughout the story the main female character (as well as the readers) really want and try to find something beneath all those faults. And she does. Or so she thinks.
Because, to be honest, I couldn’t help but think that Bennett fell for Annalise only because of her looks. I didn’t believe in a sudden “healing” and change of character by the end of the book.
I like strong alpha-male characters but Bennett is just not it. Sometimes a jacka*s is nothing more than a jacka*s and the wisest thing a woman can do is to leave him alone until he realizes his wrongs.

Historia
Ian is...just my best friend. We're extremely close, stuck so deep inside a Jim-and-Pam-style friendzone everyone at work assumes we're a couple - that is until one day, word spreads through the teacher's lounge that he's single. Fair game. Suddenly, it's open season on Ian. He should be reveling in all the newfound attention, but to our mutual surprise, the only attention he seems to want is mine. He's turning our formerly innocent nightly chats into X-rated phone calls. Our playful banter sports a new, dangerous edge.

Once I started I couldn’t stop. The main characters are very entertaining. And the narrators did a great job showing their emotions. Plus, Ian seems kinda perfect so it was nice to swoon over him together with Sam.

Historia
Everyone in Cedar Creek, Texas, knows Jack McNight is an arrogant devil. Physically, I get it: he’s tan and fit, with coal-black hair that’s clearly been scorched by hellfire. Oh, and his personality? It burns just as hot. When I show up on the doorstep of Blue Stone Ranch, I’m run-down and rockin’ my last pair of underwear. I’m hoping for a savior, but instead, I find him. My opinion of Jack is marred by a dismal first impression, but his opinion of me is tainted even before I arrive. He’s heard I’m a spoiled princess there to take advantage of his goodwill.

Sweet and light
Revisado: 01-29-20
I really enjoyed listening to this book. The narrators were amazing. I must admit, at the beginning I didn’t really like Carly’s voice for Meredith. I’ve been imagining something a little softer. But she totally won me over with her interpretation.
Back to the story itself, it was nice and easy to listen to. The banter between the main characters and a witty grandma were very entertaining.
I’m gonna add Grey to the list of the authors whose books I purchase as soon as they are published.
Time and money well spent.

Olivia thought meeting her favorite author would be a fairy tale come true. Declan Hart was supposed to be what dreams were made of - insanely handsome, wealthy, and a man who could make her melt with the stroke of a keyboard. But Declan isn't the man Olivia thought he was. While most authors would kill to have his success, the envy ends there.

Revisado: 01-28-20
A “fatty” and an a**hole meet and instantly fall for each other. He claims he’s a better man than he appears to be (he’s not!). She vows she will not be a cliche letting a handsome a**hole push her around (she does). Both are immature and acting like horny teenagers on steroids. Even the lust they claim they feel is off putting.
What a waste of time.

Historia
Brooklyn Manning thought her life was perfect in every way, until it crumbled down around her and turned into a dumpster fire. With her pride wounded and her tail tucked between her legs, she leaves New York and goes back to her tiny hometown of White Timber, Montana. No more 24-hour taco trucks, no more shopping at the best designer stores within walking distance, no more giving taxi drivers the finger when they angrily honk at her. She didn’t think it could get any worse. But then Clint Hastings walked into the room and insulted her.

So f**king shallow!
Revisado: 12-29-19
I really enjoyed some of Tara Sivec’s books so I really tried to give this book a chance. However, the main character (and ALL the others!) are sooooooo shallow, so mean to each other, so fixed on themselves and nothing else around them, that I just couldn’t stomach listening till the end.
The only word to describe the characters in this book is “white trash” and believe me, it has nothing to do with their education and wealth but all with their attitude and everyday behavior.
If their actions changed throughout the book, I didn’t stick long enough to witness it.

Historia
After losing her boyfriend, apartment, and job in the same day, Janie Morris can't help wondering what new torment fate has in store. To her utter mortification, Quinn Sullivan—a.k.a. Sir McHotpants—witnesses it all then keeps turning up like a pair of shoes you lust after but can't afford. The last thing she expects is for Quinn—the focus of her slightly, albeit harmless, stalkerish tendencies—to make her an offer she can't refuse.

The recording is really bad
Revisado: 12-19-19
Apart from the quality of the recording (there is a constant noise in the background), there were a few moments when the volume was all wonky and wrong.
I like the narrator. And the book was rather cute and funny.
What bothered me (apart from the poor quality of the recording) was the main male character. He was a jerk. Stockish even. Definitely not as romantic as Janie thought. I couldn’t help but think that in a couple years he would turn into this sadistic, controlling husband that cheats on his wife and treats her like a doormat. One step too far in this alpha-male pursuit.

One in a million
Revisado: 11-11-19
Statistically speaking, there is probably only one in a million stories that can touch you like no other. Somehow, Helen Hoang has scored two for two and is becoming my soul whisperer with her books.
I don’t know what it is about this author that makes her books sooooo special. But it felt as if she had written about Esme, Khai and Jade just for me.
I couldn’t help but cry when Esme was having a nightmare or feel stomach burn when Khai stumbled to say the right thing.
I wanted to hear the story of Khai when I first read about him in Michael and Stella’ book. But I didn’t expect it to be so overwhelming and heart-grasping as it was.
Now I can’t wait for Quan’s story. In the meantime I’m gonna read both the books over and over again because I can’t seem to part with the characters I’ve grown to love.
Ps. The narration by Emily Zeller is pretty exquisite, too. I LOVED her Esme and Jade voices. So many layers of emotions hidden within short statements and unfinished sentences. I’m in awe.

Danica Snow has always been the smart, practical, and appropriate sister. As a therapist, she prides herself on making reasonable, conservative choices, even if a bit boring, and as part of the Big Sister Program, she has little time for anything more in her life. Blake Carter is a player. He never gets bored of conquering women, and with his sexy good looks and successful lifestyle, he has no trouble finding willing participants.

Too much drama, not enough romance
Revisado: 11-06-19
It’s a nice story, well written and beautifully narrated. However, most of the book is not necessarily about the relationship between Danika and Blake as much as it is their separate stories and relationships with other people.
That said, if you are into deep psychological novels, you will love the main characters. There are no sudden changes of plot, no absurd conversations and the story flows seamlessly into the HEA.
