Historia
Everyone has heard of DNA. But by itself, DNA is just an inert blueprint for life. It is the ribosome - an enormous molecular machine made up of a million atoms - that makes DNA come to life, turning our genetic code into proteins and therefore into us. Gene Machine is an insider account of the race for the structure of the ribosome, a fundamental discovery that both advances our knowledge of all life and could lead to the development of better antibiotics against life-threatening diseases.

Historia
From Schrodinger's cat to Heisenberg's uncertainty principle, this book untangles the weirdness of the quantum world. Quantum mechanics underpins modern science and provides us with a blueprint for reality itself. And yet it has been said that if you're not shocked by it, you don't understand it. But is quantum physics really so unknowable? Is reality really so strange? And just how can cats be half alive and half dead at the same time?

Good book for the curious
Revisado: 09-27-22
all around this is a pretty good book. it details many of the confusing and interesting ideas in quantum mechanics. it excels at the end of the book where all the current and future advances made possible by quantum mechanics are discussed, which even the most well-studied physicists will find interesting. worth a read.

Historia
At once elegant and riveting, Sync tells the story of the dawn of a new science. Steven Strogatz, a leading mathematician in the fields of chaos and complexity theory, explains how enormous systems can synchronize themselves, from the electrons in a superconductor to the pacemaker cells in our hearts. He shows that although these phenomena might seem unrelated on the surface, at a deeper level there is a connection, forged by the unifying power of mathematics.

Decent read for those interested in chaos
Revisado: 08-29-22
In general this is a fairly good book for anyone interested in sync in nonlinear systems. it has moments of dull monotony interspersed with moments of profound insight. It can definitely be dry at times but the stories discussed are worth listening to for insight into the vast body of work regarding sync.

Great book for mathematically interested people
Revisado: 08-11-22
This book is a wonderful read for anyone looking for mathematical inspiration. I read it anytime I am feeling lost or need motivation. Quanta is unapologetic about providing a thorough description of the subject matter and doesn't discount the intelligence of its readers like other mathematics books do. Overall, highly recommended to mathematically inclined scientists or mathematicians.

Historia
This near-future trilogy is the first chance for English-speaking listeners to experience this multiple-award-winning phenomenon from Cixin Liu, China's most beloved science fiction author. In The Dark Forest, Earth is reeling from the revelation of a coming alien invasion - in just four centuries' time. The aliens' human collaborators may have been defeated, but the presence of the sophons, the subatomic particles that allow Trisolaris instant access to all human information, means that Earth's defense plans are totally exposed to the enemy.
