Historia
The Roman empire was like no other. Stretching from the north of Britain to the Sahara, and from the Atlantic coast to the Euphrates, it imposed peace and prosperity on an unprecedented scale. Its only true rival lay in the east, where the Parthian and then Persian empires ruled over great cities and the trade routes to mysterious lands beyond. Tracing seven centuries of conflict between Rome and Persia, historian Adrian Goldsworthy shows how these two great powers evolved together

Historia
Ulysses S. Grant's life has typically been misunderstood. All too often he is caricatured as a chronic loser and an inept businessman or as the triumphant but brutal Union general of the Civil War. But these stereotypes don't come close to capturing him, as Chernow reveals in his masterful biography, the first to provide a complete understanding of the general and president whose fortunes rose and fell with dizzying speed and frequency.

Stunning
Revisado: 09-11-23
One of if not the most influential person in the history of the United States. He was such a selfless man and this book has opened my eyes to the struggles he and others endured during this tumultuous time in our history. Giving the current domestic situation we as Americans are enduring, I believe this should be a must read for anybody trying to grasp our history and how the events that he lead our nation through have impacted our current history. This man is easily the top 3 greatest leaders we have ever elected into the highest seat in the land. It’s a long read but incredibly important to everybody with the faintest interest in our history of the United States.

Historia
The barbarian nomads of the Eurasian steppes have played a decisive role in world history, but their achievements have gone largely unnoticed. These nomadic tribes have produced some of the world’s greatest conquerors: Attila the Hun, Genghis Khan and Tamerlane, among others. Their deeds still resonate today. Indeed, these nomads built long-lasting empires, facilitated the first global trade of the Silk Road and disseminated religions, technology, knowledge and goods of every description that enriched and changed the lives of so many across Europe, China and the Middle East.

Interview with Dan Carlin
Revisado: 08-17-23
Listened to your interview on Dan Carlin and I just needed more so I went and found this book. It’s absolutely brilliant and it’s overflowing with knowledge that I’m still soaking up about 5 hours in and it’s wonderful. If you’re interested in the peoples of the steppe this is 100% the book for you. You can tell a lot of time and effort has gone into the research of this topic and I’m thoroughly thankful as the steppe peoples have always been a main focus on my personal goal of learning about history and military history. The steppe peoples have played such an important part of our history as humans and how they changed the world through their use of the bow and horse.

Historia
Where do we come from? How did our ancestors settle this planet? How did the great historic civilizations of the world develop? How does a past so shadowy that it has to be painstakingly reconstructed from fragmentary, largely unwritten records nonetheless make us who and what we are?
These 36 lectures bring you the answers that the latest scientific and archaeological research and theorizing suggest about human origins, how populations developed, and the ways in which civilizations spread throughout the globe.

I’ve noticed other complain about the narrator and I feel it’s unwarranted. Great book overall and gives a nice narrative history of one of the most interesting families in the world. Also a great father son book

A must read
Revisado: 02-15-22
I was captivated by this whole book and I’ve seen that footage countless times of the panther and Pershing duel. This book is a must for any WW2 history buff or anybody who wants an account of how terrifying and unforgiving war truly is. I was fighting tears the last couple chapters. Truly amazing.
