One Year After returns to the small town of Black Mountain and the man who struggled to rebuild it in the wake of devastation: John Matherson. It is a thrilling follow-up and should delight fans in every way.

Why did John's accent change?
Revisado: 10-20-22
I don't understand how John could go from his thick Jersey accent to a North Carolinan accent within 2 years...that bugged me through the entire listen. The narrator was fine otherwise. I struggled to finish this book because it was a lot slower and more boring than the first one. But it was Ok. I wouldn't really rocommend it though.

Historia
“Sam, could you do me a favor?” Thus begins a story that has now become part of America's true-crime hall of fame. It is a gory, grotesque tale befitting a Stephen King novel. It is also a David and Goliath saga - the story of a young lawyer fresh from the public defender's office whose first client in private practice turns out to be the worst serial killer in our nation's history. This is a gripping true crime narrative that reenacts the gruesome killings and the famous trial that shocked a nation.

I finished it in 4 days!
Revisado: 10-10-22
This was a book that I couldn't proverbially "put down". And it was not transphobic. These were different times and only a teeny tiny section of it had to do with 1 trans person. In court they have to use all of the dirty tricks that they can to win. That's how it is so stop crying about it and get over it! He wasn't sexist either...he just told the story how it actually happened. Very interesting and I highly recommend!

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

I love this book! I want another!
Revisado: 09-08-22
I love this book! It was creative, very scientific, emotional, and unpredictible! The narrator was very nice to listen to and the character development was top notch. I want a part 2 and can't wait to sér the movie!

Historia
A pioneering neuroscientist shares his story of growing up in one of Miami's toughest neighborhoods and how it led him to his groundbreaking work in drug addiction. As a youth, Carl Hart didn't realize the value of school; he studied just enough to stay on the basketball team. At the same time, he was immersed in street life. Today he is a cutting-edge neuroscientist - Columbia University's first tenured African American professor in the sciences.

Great Story but I wished there was more science
Revisado: 09-02-22
I think I didn't realize before listening that the book would be a lot about his life story. I would've liked to learn more about the science of drugs but was pleasantly surprised with how he connected his life to the story and history of drugs :) it was quit eye opening.
