Eight years ago she burned me. Now, my ex is the key to my revenge against her family. The rest of the world calls her the Princess of Wall Street, but I call her shallow. Traitorous. A she-devil in Prada. Those are the nicest words I’ll use for my ex, Cora Margulis, since I’ve made it my mission to keep her name off my lips. Though I can barely keep her memory out of my head. My brothers and I have climbed the rungs of success, starting from the basement. Now that we’re at the top, I don’t lack much. But my newest charity needs a particular type of building.

🎧🎧AUDIO REVIEW🎧🎧
First of all, it is complete NONSENSE that I have not been drowning in this woman’s stories before now! Why has no one told me?!
Obviously, I loved this book. LOL But it’s more than that, I really love this author’s skill level in not only making sure that all layers of the story had a purpose, but also her way of captivating the reader even when the story isn’t exactly not not predictable. (ya’ll see what I did there with my phrasing? lol) For me, with this story, as far as plot was concern, I knew what would come, yet I was glued to the story every second of every minute. And that’s mainly because she added unique factors to the main characters that actually helped them in coming together. Yikes, I think that was wordy and I may not have said anything LOLOL Better put would be they had a common goal for different reasons and that common goal is what thrust them back into each other’s circles which in turn allowed them to see past the *past* and move thru to the future. OMG, I just read that, and it was wordier! *sigh* I just cannot give you details!! *cries*
I’m moving forward LOL, just know that the circumstances written into the story were genius but like “subtle genius”. Feel me? ANYWHO, I loved the spark that Cora & Axel always had which made their chemistry undeniable and getting thru their past hurts and humiliations that much sweeter. I really loved these two. But I also loved the brothers and their commitment to each other. I loved that both Axel & Cora had a mission of “giving back” and took their pasts to motivate them in the future. I KNOW, I’m wordy again!
I am super stoked to get a lot more stories from Ember Leigh. I like the way her brain works!
🎧Narration🎧… Jeremy York & Jill Smith were fantastic as Axel & Cora and all supporting characters as well. Both their voices have great range and distinction between characters was never an issue!

Historia
In my defense, I had no idea the tattooed, glasses-wearing, soulful hottie I spent one perfect day—and one unforgettable night—with was a hockey star on my father’s team. And Miles didn’t know I was the coach’s daughter. That’s the point of a “no-work-talk” date. But now? He's as forbidden to me as I am to him. When I land a new gig as the team photographer, we vow to keep it professional. We mostly succeed…except for that time after a game when he couldn’t keep his talented hands off me. But I swear, it won’t happen again.

📚🎧AUDIO & EBOOK REVIEW🎧📚
I wasn't lucky enough to get an ALC along with an ARC for this release so you guys are gonna have to wait till tomorrow for a full review of audio and ebook since I've only had it in my ears since I woke up!
However, the story is ridiculously Lauren so go do the thing! lol Now, which thing will have to wait until I finish the audiobook tomorrow :)
OKAY, I have finished my audio listening (sorry I'm late) and I have to tell you, if you have the opportunity to listen to this story, grab that opportunity with both hands and do not let go! LISTEN, Jason Clarke & Samantha Brentmoor took a story all up in the #swoonfest #feels and told us to hold their beer while they masterfully took that #swoonfest #feels to levels outside the normal stratosphere. YES, the audiobook was THAT good! #trust
Now, since I haven't talked about the story, let me tell you some things! First, when Lauren Blakely is good, she is transformative! The story of Miles & Leighton felt so good, that I had legit anxiety when it was coming to an end. I wanted to be part of their inner circle so badly! They sparked at everything! Their chemistry held no bounds. YES, Lauren is THAT good! #trust
The story was perfectly paced and even though there's an insta characteristic to the journey on Miles's part, Lauren managed a delicious slow-burn all at the same time. STOP IT! They grew as individuals and as friends and as more all as part of the storyline and it was such a huge *happy sigh* for me!
MAN, I feel good about this story! ALL OF IT!

I’m the oldest virgin in major league baseball. And I’m in love with a woman who’s about to marry someone else. Listen. It’s not like I planned to still be a virgin at twenty-eight. Or to fall in love with the team trainer, who apparently would rather date a guy who wears polo shirts instead of baseball pants. But life doesn’t always go according to plan. When I first laid eyes on Lark Miller, I knew she was something special. Unfortunately, so did her boyfriend.

🎧🎧AUDIOBOOK REVIEW🎧🎧
I really like Julia Jarrett’s style! I met her words back in 2023 but haven’t been able to catch up on her backlist yet and every time I have an opportunity to experience one of her stories, I mentally kick myself for not doing better at catching up! She’s a good storyteller that doesn’t fluff up her work or unnecessarily dramatize it. Her stories are fun and relatable and always hit the spot for me.
Dan, our MMC, has been crushing on our FMC, Lark, for quite some time, but alas, she’s marrying someone else. Or is she?! Hmmmmmm LOL This friends-to-more story with an added surprise was super swoony and full of heart. I might have shed a tear or two because Dan was the best guy ever!! I loved his character so much and Lark was his perfect other half! The story wasn’t always smooth sailing but love always wins! ;)
🎙️Tim Paige and Victoria Conolly🎙️ were an amazing team performing this story! I have a lot of experience with Tim Paige so I knew going in that he would not disappoint. He’s always been one of my favorites and this performance was no different! Victoria wasn’t new-to-me, but I’d only listened to one other audio narrated by her and that story was so all consuming twitchy that I don’t even think I heard the narrators. 🤨🤨 But I listened to her this time, and she was really great and memorable! I’ll be looking out for her in the future!
The Vancouver Tridents series has been an absolute joy in my ears for these three books and I cannot wait to have the next in the series, Steal A Kiss in my ears asap! 😍

🎧🎧AUDIO REVIEW🎧🎧
🎤Samantha Brentmoor & Shane East🎤 rocked the heck out of this performance and ✨J.D. Carothers✨ wrote one heck of an edge of your seat suspense storyline intertwined with a romance journey perfectly and I have now found my new author obsession! I am already on the hunt for the best possible way to get ahold of the audios for the next two books in this series without my debit card putting me on notice! Son of a biscuit eater this was excellent on all fronts!
Rival Secrets has a all kinds of circumstances milling about the storyline which one would think would make a reader’s brain hurt but it does not! #magic There’s the romance, the competition, the mystery, the hidden truths, and Vegas Baby! Lol Seriously, I didn’t even feel the almost 9 hours of listening time. I had an honest to goodness ”good time” listening to the story and all its parts unfold. There is excellent character growth with not a whole lot of predictability. The plot is spicy and edgy and again, not very predictable.
The absolute best part of this story is that when you think you know, you absolutely kinda do not! It will captivate you and keep you on your toes and of course you will swoon because Shane & Samantha! They absolutely cannot do wrong! Well, at least they never have for me!
UPDATE March 2025 I just did a relisten this past weekend so I could binge all 3 audiobooks THIS WEEK!! I AM GIDDY!! :)

I *read* Dr Perfect back in 2023 when it first published and I really enjoyed the story. I've been waiting until I had all the audiobooks in the series to listen to all of them (well, I did listen to Dr Off Limits back in 2023) at once because Louise Bay makes me happy just about every single time and I needed a little romance fiction happy last week! SO, here we are ...
📚STORY REVIEW from 2023📚
Once again, Louise Bay has thoroughly entertained me with one of her stories!
The building relationship between Zach & Ellie is not the only storyline going on in this book. Both characters have a growth path they have to push thru in order to have their futures come together and the author expertly crisscrossed all these paths seamlessly. Even with all the baggage that both Zach & Ellie were carrying within the story, it still had a *light* feel to it and I think that’s mainly because of the Cove family. I mean … ridiculous LOL does not even begin to give them justice. This family is hilarious, and I love how they’re incorporated in the story to add levity in all the right places!
I love this world that she’s building and I’m looking forward to reading how DR. CEO unfolds in August! There’s not a story I wouldn’t recommend that Louise Bay has written so you can start with this one or any other and I promise you’ll enjoy your experience :)

Incredible performance by both Shane East and Clare Corbett! They have always made a powerful team and they just work so well together! They are a well oiled machine and I love it! Every time I see these 2 are collaborating on a project I get giddy! Both Shane and Clare have incredible range and voice versatility, which makes them and easy pick for any character! I love them both SO MUCH!! 💙💙

I’d like to preface this by saying it was never my intention to ever get involved in a workplace romance, let alone get involved with the most surly, agitating, and pompous man I’ve ever met who just so happens to be my new friend’s brother. My intentions were to show students how English and reading books could actually be fun and make a new life for myself in the suburbs of Chicago.

Let me tell you guys, See Me After Class is a top of a top of a top read right now. My review is ridiculous because it just says the book is JOY and go read it, but it is important people understand, sometimes, less is more. This is 2020. When I say something is JOY, you’d best believe it is all that and a bag of Lay’s Lightly Salted Barbecue chips. A small-town single mom like me has no business believing in fairy tales. But the very handsome, charming, dirty-talking prince (yes, seriously) I met nineteen months ago now has his fine ass and panty-melting grin planted on my front porch. He’s been searching for me ever since I snuck out after our hot, fantasy-filled weekend together. And, dammit, that’s a little romantic. Now that he’s found me, he wants to pick up where we left off. UPDATE 🎧AUDIOBOOK REVIEW🎧 JANUARY 2025
I’ve already reviewed this story so I’m just going to concentrate on narration right now. Amelia Hugh & Connor Crais did an excellent job with their duet performance. I’ve always enjoyed Connor, and it was no different this time around. Amelia Hugh was new to my ears, and it took some getting used to her cadence and style. She comes across as more of a reader than a performer and that’s not a favorite for me. I did not not enjoy this audiobook because of it, but I wasn’t able to get lost in the story like I normally do. Hopefully the more audiobooks I listen to by her, my ears will become more adjusted. I’m not giving up just yet!
One last little tidbit and this is about the story as a whole. When I read the story, this particular *thing* never even crossed my mind, but with the audiobook, it was glaring in my head! The plot point surrounding Scarlett’s insistence she had to live in the town to prove herself just dragged on and went too far in my opinion. Even when it was glaring obvious that it was at the detriment of her family, she kept “keeping on” as they say, and it took a little of the shine out of the story. It didn’t feel like a natural progression to me, rather like conflict that was dragged for the dramatic effect and … #twitchy *shrug* This is the very reason I love to play the “which format may or may not be better” game :) because you just never know how things will hit you in a book and reading and listening can completely change your perspective on a dime! I wouldn’t go as far as to say one is better than the other in this case but maybe … (lol)
eBook Review October 2024
I am completely and irrevocably smitten with Royals Gone Rogue and Erin Nicolle! Some of you are probably wondering what took me so long to be smitten by her since she’s Erin Nicholas, who’s been publishing fantastic stories since like forever! Amirite? You’re wondering? Well, it’s because it seems like a million years ago since I read her so it’s all fresh and new and fridiculously fantastic!! But I digress … about Rags to Royals …
First of all, I’m pretty sure I laughed out loud thru most of the story! The story was flirty and charming and entertaining and also emotional! It was all the things people! ALL OF THEM! I am so hyped over it that I can’t wait to get it in my ears! I really like the choices Erin made for not just the characters but also the storyline. I liked that it wasn’t easy peasy for Cian to waltz into Scarlet’s life and convince her he’s the one. He had to work it and it was so devastatingly swoony and also moving and heartfelt. It felt very real and relatable even though he’s a royal. Feel me? I love that Cian and Mariah were a team and her character wasn’t written in the typical nonconformist way teenagers are mostly portrayed. She was on #TeamCian and helped every step of the way! *heart eyes*
I don’t want to say anything else for fear I might let slip a circumstance in the story that will spoil it for you because you should really experience everything about not just this story but this series with fresh eyes and a blank brain. LOL It’s how I have experienced it from the very beginning, and I have never been more captivated and in love with a whole lot of fictional people like I am with every single character, including the sketchy ones, in this huge circle! I should really get my act together and read more of Erin’s work because my kindle says I own *whispers* 30 of them shsssss! Lol

🎧📚eBook & Audio Review📚🎧
I spent the last couple of nights with this ALC in my ears and I cannot tell you how happy it made me! I read the ARC of this novella at the beginning of November and I just loved it but I knew I was going to listen to the audio really close to release so I held off reviewing until I was done with both. So here I am … smiling from ear to ear even now remembering it all to review!
🎧 First of all, this duet narration was spectacular! Teddy Hamilton and Stella Hunter both performed this story so well that I couldn’t help but smile like a lunatic while I listened! They elevated and already extremely entertaining story to a level that made me burst out laughing too many times to count. 👏🏻#winning👏🏻
📖 Now, about this story … as far as concept/idea for the story, LB gets a million stars for ingenuity! The humor and the swoon were high, and the entire thing was so much fun that I just couldn’t stop myself from LOL (literally) on many occasions. This is holiday romance done right! It was fun and sexy and flirty and it just made me happy! :) (reading and listening both, so pick your fave format and a good time you shall have!)
Sidebar: Why am I today years old when I find out this whole holiday novella thing by LB is a tradition dating back to 2022?? Can someone please be in charge of me from now on? Tks!

🎧🎧AUDIO REVIEW🎧🎧
I came close to starting from the beginning with this series when this ALC landed in my library, but I didn’t have the time. *sad face* I wanted to because I really enjoy Rebecca’s style and voice! I met her writing back in 2020 and when I became and audiobook junkie back in 2022 and she had some of her backlist stories available in Everand, I binged the heck out of her books, some more than once!
Anywho, my gut tells me that I would have enjoyed this story a whole lot more if I’d *experienced* some of the background of both Everly & Jack, but especially Everly. There are enough snippets told to us as the story builds and unfolds that you may not even notice, but I did, and it just made me twitch a little bit. I’m just that kind of reader, and since I’ve only read/listened to one book in this series and that was 2 years ago, there were some circumstances/plot-points that I could have used more depth to appreciate them better. Make sense? It’s okay if it doesn’t because on the flip side, the twitch wasn’t enough of a twitch to even have me pausing or not enjoying what was happening throughout the story. So, there’s that :) I’m very caught up with my blogger duties going into 2025, so I’ll be binging the whole series by next week! *yay me*
So, about this story … 😍😍😍😍
✔️Relatable
✔️Organic
✔️Realistic
✔️Easy
✔️Sexy
✔️Funny
💜Absolute delight in my ears for 9+ hours!
I love that the story was emotional but not angst driven. Between Jack’s current baggage and Everly’s past baggage, this story could have easily gone down a deeply angst driven storyline, but Rebecca didn’t take it in that direction and instead took it down and uplifting organic road. Props to her for spinning it in that direction! I also liked a lot that the conflict, although predictable and eyeroll inducing, was also realistic and relatable. AND she didn’t use the teammate sibling arc as part of the conflict. MAD PROPS FOR THAT ONE!
🎧About narration … Sebastian York was the perfect pick as Jack. He has a deep voice that naturally flows for Jack’s character and CJ Bloom’s versatility made for a perfect, young in age but mature in life, Everly! Their performance was ridiculously good! 👏👏huge round of applause to them both👏👏!!

After fifteen years of tending goal for the Boston Rebels, I’m known for two things: the highest save percentage in the league, and never spending more than one night with the same woman. I’m definitely not the guy you should trust with your best friend’s little sister. Especially not when that sister, Jules, is eight years younger and my new roommate. When I witness her on the verge of a panic attack while being intimidated by another man, I don’t think twice about calling her my fiancée and kissing her. Which brings me to the third thing I’m known for: reckless and impulsive decision-making.

🎧🎧AUDIO REVIEW🎧🎧
My second experience with a Julia Connors story and we are two for two highly recommend!
I love this story so much! It wasn’t a straightforward story. It had curves and some of those curves even had twist and I was honestly surprised at almost every one of them. These aren’t twist like plot twist but more like these nuggets of information that happened or were told to us that really enhanced the story and made me think on more than one occasion “ohhhhhhh”. That’s an outstanding feeling as a reader! I like being surprised even when it’s something small and innocent and not some huge revelation. I was just very happily surprised at many moments in this story and that, in and of itself, captivated me and kept me wanting more!
I’ve never really been a huge fan of the ”friend’s sibling” trope because it’s almost always used as a point of conflict for way longer than necessary. I’ve never even understood why it’s problematic in the first place lol so when it’s dragged on for what seems like forever in a book, I get twitchy. LOL Well, Julia Connors did not drag it out at all! She didn’t even make it a point of conflict. Instead, she kinda blended it into Colt’s growth as a character! I mean … see, surprising nuggets of information! This entire story was full on little examples such as this one and when you put them all together, it makes an exceptional story. I honestly can’t find even a little tiny thing to quibble about! *heart eyes*
🎧 About the narrators … swoooooooooonfest! Connor Crais together with Stella Bloom made me incredibly happy. You know, a story can be a 10 out of 10 but if narration runs amok, it can derail everything about a story and that also works the other way! Connor & Stella elevated an already outstanding story with their narration. They both have very good ranges with “other” voices they need to narrate other than the leads. They make an excellent team!
