Historia
One of the things small town librarian Amanda Jones values most about books is how they can affirm a young person’s sense of self. So in 2022, when she heard of a local public hearing that would discuss “book content,” she knew what was at stake. Schools and libraries nationwide have been bombarded by demands for books with LGTBQ+ references, discussions of racism, and more to be purged from the shelves. Amanda would be damned if her community were to ban stories representing minority groups. She spoke out that night at the meeting. Days later, she woke up to a nightmare that still persists.

Joinging and Fight, too

I had heard horrible stories about people who try to ban books, but I thought ":nobody is that insane". Obviously, I was wrong. Book Banning is alive and well in America; this simply will not do.

Historia
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Hunh???
Revisado: 02-06-18
Would you try another book from Andy Weir and/or Rosario Dawson?
Ms. Dawson's voice was such a mismatch for this character; the accent is to Americanized, but she's supposed to be from the Moon?
And Weir's "The Martian" turned out to be a one-hit wonder, because this book is a dud.
Would you ever listen to anything by Andy Weir again?
The Martian was the best thing I'd heard.
What didn’t you like about Rosario Dawson’s performance?
Her accent was so Americanized, and her acting skills are too dramatic for the character. Her intonation was really off, considering the book's character.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
I liked the diverse ethnicity of the characters, and the creativity of the social geographical characters.
Any additional comments?
I was just really disappointed. I guess I expected it to be not so... there's no story to hook onto. IT doesn't go anywhere. I gave it seven out of nine chapters, and couldn't take anymore.

Historia
In 1558 the ancient stones of Kingsbridge Cathedral look down on a city torn apart by religious conflict. As power in England shifts precariously between Catholics and Protestants, high principles clash bloodily with friendship, loyalty, and love. Ned Willard wants nothing more than to marry Margery Fitzgerald. But when the lovers find themselves on opposing sides of the religious divide sweeping across the country, Ned goes to work for Princess Elizabeth. When she becomes queen, all Europe turns against England.

I couldn’t get beyond the third chapter.
It is a great let-down, as I love the previous books.
blah story; horrible French accent, and disastrous female voice. This is what happens when you wait ten years.

Historia
Meet Ove. He's a curmudgeon - the kind of man who points at people he dislikes as if they were burglars caught outside his bedroom window. He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. People call him "the bitter neighbor from hell". But behind the cranky exterior there is a story and a sadness.

no thanks
Revisado: 03-10-17
I bought this because others liked it. Others don't live with a real grouch like this guy, so for me, the story lacked fantasy needed.
I don't see anything funny about rudeness, racism, sexism, or ingratitude.
I didn't get through more than two chapters, so the story is probably very good since others like it so much.
But that's just me.

Historia
The debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people's lives. Every day the same. Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning and night. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. Jess and Jason, she calls them. Their life - as she sees it - is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.

You'll solve it by the first few chapters. I did really enjoy the writing and narration very much.
