There is no good ending to a nuclear war

Great piece of researched work. My only critique is that Jacobson’s breathy speaking voice made it hard to stay awake at times. The subject is stimulating as long as you don’t listen while tired.

Jacobson presents a chilling scenario of how a nuclear war could begin and what its inevitable outcome would be.

Great “Sleeper”

I got this book after hearing a very good interview with the author. Sadly, I let it sit “on the shelf” too long before trying to listen to it. It’s well researched and has good information but Lindsey is an academic and the book reads like a government report. Lindsey is also the reader and his quiet, near monotone delivery is perfect as one of those Audible books intended to put you to sleep quickly. Had I gotten to this one before the clock ran out I would have returned it.

Great Treasure Trove of Info

Judd did a great job bringing the information together and writing a coherent book. He should have gotten a professional voice to do the reading. His lightning fast reading creates paragraph long run-on sentences and his mispronunciation of words and names was distracting from the material. I would still recommend this book but it really should be re-recorded.

Great Story behind the Story

Great to hear the details of the artists and the impact that Sue Brewer had on them. Being very audio oriented and familiar with the persons portrayed I found voices that didn’t fit people distracting, but was able to get past it and enjoy the production.

Fun story and one that will be a worthwhile listen. The use of multiple persons to supply the voices makes the story even more enjoyable as the story unfolds.

Walt is back!

The last couple of novels were good but drifting into the weird. With this installment the Walt Longmire I know is back. Craig Johnson has done a great job once again and George Guidall is the icing on the cake.

Good Book, Struggle to Listen

I appreciate Pastor Mark Driscoll’s teaching and the work here is theologically sound. The only issue I had was listening to Mark Mark read his own work and be unable to make it sound conversational. It sounds like he’s reading and it made it difficult for me to focus as closely as I desired on the message.

The second offering in “The Expanse” series is even better than the first. I’m not usually a big fan of the genre but took a chance after it was recommended by a family member. I now have the entire series including the short stories so I don’t have to wait to start the next chapter. This is an excellent escape!

Jack Carr has done it again.

Carr’s James Reese does not disappoint. Once again he writes a story that is believable and could be torn from the day’s headlines. Ray Porter’s talented voice acting makes this a story not to be missed. I had a hard tome finding places to take a break.
