A Magnificent Partnership Makes the Book Come to Life

Graham Masterton, as he usually does, wrote a thoroughly scary book. A book that grips from the first word he wrote. It is, however, the narrator, Emma Gregory, that makes the characters come alive. You feel the horror and hopelessness Mr. Masterton wanted to convey. He and Emma made a truly magnificent partnership that, together, let the book live on in my mind long after hearing the last sentence. Thank you to both the author and the narrator for this book. It exceeded my expectations. Kim Bock.

I've listened to almost all Joanna's books, her podcasts and now I'm going through it again. A usual she gives excellent advice to Indie authors, because she's one herself. Thank you for the hard work and good advice.

Rambling on one tone at high speed. Definitely not step by step. Very disappointing.

I initially thought that I was not going to like the book at all because of how the Oprah interview was conducted and also the Docuseries, particularly the part calling the Commenwealth, of which my country is one, British Empire 2.0. That was in my view a deliberate attempt to destroy the life's work of the Queen.

The Oprah Interview was an attempt to tarnish the name of the Royal Family and calling them and Britain racist, which is not true at all.

I thought the book was going to be more of the same. In part it was. It's clear Prince Harry is very bitter towards his family, but most of all he is very angry at the British Press.

From the beginning I realized that he was a very damaged person. Damaged by the death of his mother and unable to deal with it, denying it for years. I feel the Family could have done more to help him. Therapy is mentioned, but it's unclear what kind and if it was of value at all.

The Book was colored by this damage to his psyche and it seems that he may have inherited a lot of his paranoia from his mother, particularly against his family. Nowhere do I hear any self awareness of his and his wife that they may also have contributed to the feelings of frustration and bitterness between him and his family, or an acknowledgement that he may have contributed to the Press and Public's view of him. He admits that he has taken drugs. Nowhere does he say he stopped. In fact even as recently as in his new life with Meghan he mentioned rolling weed and smoking it.

Meghan in my view made absolutely no attempt to adjust to the life and work of the Royal family and appears manipulative. Sitting on the floor and stairs on more than one occasion sobbing and even threatening to take her own life (like Diana did). She should have known what that would do to Harry. Harry even mentioned that she took freebies from fashion houses and shared some of it with staff which is against the Royal Family Rules. She therefore carried on with the practice she applied with the Tig. I also don't believe that she didn't Google Harry or the family.

There are inconsistencies between The Oprah Interview, The Docuseries and Spare.

Harry just brushes over the Interview and doesn't mention the Series at all. He must therfore know the damage those did.

The Book is Completely One sided. It is utterly his view and his perceptions and heavily colored by the trauma he suffered with the death of his mother.

He places ALL the blame on mostle his brother and father but also on the Queen. He calls Diana pure. She wasn't pure and also had her faults but he does not see her as this a normal, flawed human being. His father and family did their best, but he barely acknowledges that. He doesn't see any faults in Meghan, almost exalting her to the same level as Diana.

The book could have done without all the intimate details relating to his sex life and body parts. I don't think he had permission to share conversations with Chelsea, Cressida, William, Kate, Charles or Camilla (who he doesn't respect at all).

The book is well written and may be a reflection of HIS truth, but not THE truth. I sincerely hope he and his family make up, because without them he will go through life with a skewed view of what happened. His children at least deserve to know his family. They have no contact of her family and it will be sad if they don't know more about their Heritage.

Because of the one sided nature of the book (not the way it was written), I give it a three. His reading was done well and he put his emotions into it which deserves top marks.

I loved listening to James Patterson himself telling us about his writing life. He has a very good sense of humour and listened to the book in one sitting.

I loved this course and the enthusiasm of the Presenter. I would like to hear a follow up with more detail contained in it as this seems more to be like an overview of the particular time in history.
