My Dad read these stories to me and who ever in my family wanted to listen. Our family had quite a few dogs as pets, and I had 5 wonderful Guide Dogs throughout my life. I thought I’d listen to Lad’s stories as I’m on my way to celebrate a service for my Dad this weekend. My Father was a WW II. Vet, and he read Albert Payson Terhune’s stories a long time before he read them to us. He also read us books by Jack London and many others about the things he loved like dogs, and the wilderness. He took us for walks and fishing and I’ve grown up with a love for the outdoors and nature because of him, and the talks we had after reading these kind of stories.

The story.

I’ve listened to quite a few historical novels about royal women, and their struggles throughout various time periods. This is a very realistic portrait of England’s first queen. I hope that people with also listen to the authors note at the end of the book. I’m now ready to listen to the next book in the series, and I hope this author writes another book about some great lady soon. I will be reading/listening to it when it’s written.

Especially the words.
It’s real for anyone that loves country music.

I recommend this seires of The Great Courses to anyone who loves Arthurian history and books.
I’ve listened to a few of the Great Courses series and this has been my favourite so far.

I haven’t listened to a good Western in a long time.
Just happened to find this series on Audible plus and decided to try it.
I’m glad I did and I hope others that like this kind of fiction decide to listen to it as well.

Best Southern Gothic Novel Ive ever read.

I waited a long time to listen to this book, and it was worth the wait.
This is a good choice for anyone who enjoys the genre and I recommend it to anyone who has not read books by this author before. Its a great introduction to his work.

If you like to read books about books, libraries etc this series is one of the best.
I am very glad the same narrator read the entire series.
This was the best series I’ve read this year.

I’ve read a lot of adult fairy tales recently and this one was quite a surprise in a good way. Why not let the bad guy have a chance to redeem himself? No more spoilers, just linsten to the book and have an open mind.

Great reading of a classic adventure book!

I haven’t read this book in over 40 years. My dad read it to me and my brother when we were children. The narrator was great, and I would recommend this book to those who want to find out about Jack London’s writing.

A long read/listen but worth it.

I liked the characters and was very thankful for the glossary and summary provided at the beginning of each book. I read this over a period of several days, so needed reminders as to the plot and characters. If you like complicated epic fantasy then you’ll enjoy this series. I’m very glad the same person narrated all 3 books.
