Historia
Parlez-vous Doggish? At long last, dogs will know just how smart their owners can be. By unlocking the secrets of the hidden language of dogs, psychologist Stanley Coren allows us into the doggy dialogue, or "Doggish", and makes effective communication a reality. Drawing on substantial research in animal behavior, evolutionary biology, and years of personal experience, Coren demonstrates that the average house dog can understand language at about the level of a two-year-old human.

Outdated

Way too much focus on dominance behavior which has been mostly debunked and other motivations behind these behaviors have been identified. Very outdated description of dog behavior.

Everything I wish I learned in couple's therapy
Revisado: 01-13-20
My partner and I have been in and out of couple's therapy for a while now but haven't had the success we hoped. At it's foundation we have a good relationship but both of us brought a lot of baggage that prevented is from showing up the way we wanted/needed to in the relationship. This book does a great job of not only explaining why certain relationship problems occur (spoiler: everything comes from childhood) but actually gives TONS of specific advice and exercises you can try on your own or with your partner to develop those skills (unlike a lot of these types of books that often end up more descriptive than prescriptive). The narrator was also great and very emotive! Made it really easy to stay engaged and put yourself in the example couple's shoes

life changing
Revisado: 11-14-19
This book triggered an existential crisis for me, and at the same time was the most important book I've ever read. Seeing my life described so scarily accurately felt like taking the red pill in The Matrix. Not only do I see these dynamics in my own life but in so many others around me. I want to throw a copy of this book at everyone I meet. I'm still sorting through my thoughts about this (and will probably require some intense therapy now) but I highly recommend it.

Historia
In 1994, Driven to Distraction sparked a revolution in our understanding of attention deficit disorder. Now a second revolution is under way in the approach to ADD, and the news is great. Drug therapies, our understanding of the role of diet and exercise, even the way we define the disorder, all are changing radically. And doctors are realizing that millions of adults suffer from this condition, though the vast majority of them remain undiagnosed and untreated.

Good book, flaws with the Audible tracks.
Revisado: 11-03-19
great crash course on all the different aspects of life that are impacted by ADHD. Very ADHD friendly in that every chapter covers a different topic and they are fairly short and independent from the other chapters. My one complaint is that the Audible tracks do not actually line up with the actual chapters, so it's very hard to actually go back and re-listen to any chapter or skip around. please fix the tracks so they line up with the book chapters.
