From the moment I started I was pulled in! This was definitely interesting throughout with a twist at the end! I do kind of regret not seeing the pictures, but I just looked at them on Kindle instead.

This is a very easy summer read! I became interested in the characters quickly. However, as with many books like this, it's very predictable. There are some parts that are explained in the other books apparently? I might go back and read those to learn more about certain characters.

*Sigh* I'm Still Not Into This...

I really wasn't interested in the first book, but decided to try this performance version to see if anything improved. Honestly, I definitely enjoyed the 'live action' - I wish more books had this option! However, some aspects made it confusing to keep up with like... I didn't always know which character was speaking; The romance scenes got EXTRA 'cringey'; The random quotes in between lost me. I usually like this style of writing but I think this series isn't for me. I will, however, watch the show/movie because I feel that it will be great visually! But as a book...? Eh. Not for me.

Am I Missing Something...?

Not sure if I'm trying to like this because of the traction it's been getting, but I found it fell flat. I didn't like the voices - why did Xaden sound like an actual beast? Also, was it just me or were the romance scenes 'cringey'? I am going to try the next book but the action version to see if it peaks my interest some more, but so far, I'm not into this series at all.

Honestly, Could’ve Done Without!

I’m not sure if it’s just me, but these 4.5 rated books should barely be rated 3 stars. This was yet another book I selected because of the ratings and synopsis that I had to force myself to finish. I didn’t enjoy the narrator, plot or predictability. Maybe a 10 year old would think this story had a plot twist, but there were none - plus, the characters all fell flat.

It Was Just… OK.

It was an ‘okay’ storyline. I think some of what was said to be happening in the company is definitely a reflection of what is currently happening in our country. That was the part that made it good. Other than that, I feel like the story was mediocre.

I didn’t think the storyline was terrible, but I do think the book itself has been hyped up. Not sure if everyone will be suuuuper surprised by the ending after listening/reading the different point of views.

Story was OK… Narrator was NOT!

For a while, I regretted this purchase. I think it’s probably a better book if you read it yourself as opposed to listening because the narrator was TERRIBLE. The voices she gave the characters were juvenile and sounded like spoiled high schoolers. I thought it was a YA book. It was very distracting and ruined most of the book for me. However, you do get to the last 3ish hours and begin to feel for/develop a connection to the character(s). I just wished I read it myself to give it a better rating.
