Historia
Nora Stephens' life is books—she’s read them all—and she is not that type of heroine. Not the plucky one, not the laidback dream girl, and especially not the sweetheart. In fact, the only people Nora is a heroine for are her clients, for whom she lands enormous deals as a cutthroat literary agent, and her beloved little sister Libby.

Her best yet
Revisado: 07-31-22
Do you love Roy Kent and wish there was an American version of him who just happens to be an editor?
Do you wonder whatever happened to the jilted girlfriend in every hallmark movie ever ?
Do you like Bigfoot Erotica ?
Then this book is most definitely for you.
I will read anything that Emily Henry writes and this somehow tops every other phenomenal book in the Emily Henry universe.

A new view on Erin
Revisado: 01-05-19
Originally when I was reading the book and shortly after finishing it, I found myself at times quite frustrated with Erin the protagonist and loose ends I felt like existed. However after listening to this session, I think I understand Erin a bit more and like her better than I did originally. I think leaving some ambiguity is interesting for a reader because you can come up with your own conclusions.
I also kind of wish Catherine will write a series of stand alone novels about one of the characters Eddie, because I thought he was so interesting.

Historia
Situated hundreds of miles from any other settlement, deep within the inhospitable desert of Northern Kenya, Dadaab is a city like no other. Its buildings are made from mud, sticks, or plastic; its entire economy is gray; and its citizens survive on rations and luck. Over the course of four years, Ben Rawlence became a firsthand witness to a strange and desperate limbo-land, getting to know many of those who have come there seeking sanctuary.

Compelling but dry
Revisado: 09-16-16
This book is compelling and heart breaking but has so much information it gets to be almost overwhelming. Can be dry- I think the performers
Voice and just the slush of information made it hard to get through.
But
Such an important piece of work. Maybe better in print

Historia
The debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people's lives. Every day the same. Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning and night. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. Jess and Jason, she calls them. Their life - as she sees it - is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.

Great first Audiobook!
Revisado: 09-23-15
What did you love best about The Girl on the Train?
I really loved getting to know these flawed interesting characters- especially Rachel- even though her experiences/thoughts can be painful to listen to because you feel for her, her story arc is incredible. Even Anna, who could be one note based on her personality has so many nuances! The ending is a bit clunky but overall really wonderful! Highly recommend- and as for the whole "Gone Girl" thing- if you like suspense, mysteries, and a unlikely/at times untrustworthy narrator then you will like this, but they are very different!
What did you like best about this story?
I love books that jump back and forth between different characters points of view! You get a sort of "birds eye view" of what's happening. Also switching between characters and time periods allows you to not get bogged down and bored.
What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
As much as I love the character switching style, it can get a little confusing trying to keep track of all the "moving parts." For the first few chapters I actually would write little notes to myself at my desk about characters to remember and keep track. But the differing voices really helped and I think they matched the characters great! The one who was Anna especially- but whoever plays the Psychiatrist was a little lame.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Rachel's persistent push to go deeper into herself and this journey- hearing her deal with everything from her depression to alcoholism with brutal honesty is both jarring but really beautiful.
