Historia
Delia Sweeney has always been unlike her older sister - fair and delicate compared to tall, statuesque Nora, whose hair is as dark as Donegal turf. In other ways, too, the sisters are leagues apart. Nora is her mother's darling, favored at every turn, and expected to marry into wealth. Delia, constantly slighted, finds a measure of happiness helping her da on the farm. The rest of the time, she reads about far-off places that seem sure to remain a fantasy. Until the day a letter arrives from America.

Revisado: 06-02-24
This book has it all covering a dark period of our history of the Vietnam War. This was my era and described exactly how it happened and what it was like being a young couple just starting our lives. I have avoided books of this era but this book stands out as a must read. Narration was great!

Historia
Ambrose Young was beautiful. He was tall and muscular, with hair that touched his shoulders and eyes that burned right through you. The kind of beautiful that graced the covers of romance novels, and Fern Taylor would know. She'd been reading them since she was 13. But maybe because he was so beautiful he was never someone Fern thought she could have...until he wasn't beautiful anymore.

Wonderful!
Revisado: 03-17-24
This book will be added to my all time favorites! I usually don’t listen to male narrators but Rob Shapiro is one of the best narrators I’ve ever heard! He made this book come alive and gives it the emotional ride this story becomes. This book has so many emotions in it and brought tears down my face. I found myself rewinding to hear over and over the poetry so moving and beautiful and said with this voice that could only be this narrator. Please don’t pass this book by!

I loved this book from the first chapter till the last!! I have always enjoyed books about the Pack Horse Librarians and this is truly good. The characters are wonderful especially Miss Lillie. Just the right amount of Bible teachings throughout the story.

Historia
Allie Kirkland has never been one to take wild risks. But when she's offered a costuming assistant's job on a docudrama in the hills near Moses Lake, she jumps at the chance. She's always dreamed of following in her director-father's footsteps, and the reenactment of the legendary frontier settlement of Wildwood is a first step. The family expectations will have to wait. But in 1861, the real Wildwood held dangerous realities. Town founder Harland Delevan held helpless residents, including young Irish schoolteacher Bonnie Rose, in an iron grip.

Revisado: 06-14-23
I always like Lisa Wingate books. They are considered Christian reading but religion is mentioned softly scattered throughout. The narration was very good. The story was so interesting and I loved the Irish character and the Irish accent.

It is London, 1914. World War I looms on the horizon, women are fighting for the right to vote, and explorers are pushing the limits of endurance in the most forbidding corners of the earth. Into this volatile time, Jennifer Donnelly places her vivid and memorable characters, including Willa Alden, a passionate mountain climber who lost her leg while summiting Kilimanjaro with Seamus Finnegan - and will never forgive him for saving her life.

Powerful!!
Revisado: 05-28-23
This is by far the best historical series I have ever listened to! Jill Tanner is truly the best narrator I’ve heard. I thought after The Tea Rose there was no way the second book could be better but The Winter Rose was better with so much history contained in one book. I couldn’t wait for The Wild Rose which did not disappoint. I enjoy the telling of the Middle East and Lawrence of Arabia which is never emphasized in war stories. The characters are wonderful and the story line never slows. I will read these books again. My favorite series!
