Historia
Rescued from unscrupulous breeders who plan to destroy him because of his floppy ear, when the Queen’s littlest corgi arrives at Windsor Castle, he finds himself in a world of red carpets, gilded chambers - and not a pile of dirty laundry to be seen. Charming his way into the affections of the royal household, Nelson offers a dog’s-eye view of life with the Queen. He eavesdrops on her encounters with celebrities, philanthropists and advisers, catching rare insights into the secrets of a purposeful life.

Nice, but not as good as The Dalai Llamas Cat 🐈
Revisado: 07-28-24
I may be biased, but coming to this after having read the Dalai Llamas Cat series, the previous one was better in terms of story and emotional engagement. It is still a very nice audiobook, but perhaps lacks some of the mysticism and bewilderment from the former.

Historia
Auckland Island is a godforsaken place in the middle of the Southern Ocean, 285 miles south of New Zealand. With year-round freezing rain and howling winds, it is one of the most forbidding places in the world. To be shipwrecked there means almost certain death. In 1864, Captain Thomas Musgrave and his crew of four aboard the schooner Grafton wreck on the southern end of the island. Utterly alone in a dense coastal forest, plagued by stinging blowflies and relentless rain, Captain Musgrave inspires his men to take action.

Loved it!
Revisado: 07-05-22
Loved the book and narration. Especially the parallel between the crews of the Grafton and Invercauld (the coward captain and mate of the Invercauld made me so mad, Holding is an unsung hero).
If you're looking for a book on stories of survival in the harshest conditions, this is it!

Historia
Beowulf is considered the finest heroic poem in Old English. It celebrates the character and exploits of Beowulf, a young nobleman and warrior, as he proves his superhuman strength and endurance. He also represents the ideal lord and vassal, rewarding his men generously and accomplishing glorious deeds to honor his king.

Good performance, but perhaps Audible is not the best if you actually want to understand Beowulf, due to the old language and phrasing used.

Boring
Revisado: 12-31-20
I grabbed this as a fast listen, but couldn't go through with it after the first 10 minutes. Monotone, the style and story is not likeable and overall quite boring.

Turns into a bad fanfic romance
Revisado: 12-31-20
Jesus Christ, did it really have to turn into a fanfiction romance in the last 2 chapters? The first part was amazing - had so much potential, and then it switched into a badly written romance between Marie and her future husband where the characters turn into veritable Mary Sues.
5⭐ for the narrator though. I almost thought it was Marie narrating all along.

Love Katherine, but THIS IS NOT A BOOK
Revisado: 08-04-20
I love Katherine - she is hilarious. What I don't love though is the fact that this "book" is just a recording of one of her shows - which I can find online for free. Waste of money ...

Unsatisfactory
Revisado: 07-14-20
I got to about 50% and then I had to stop.
I first saw James in WILTY and I thought he was hilarious. I still think he is amazing. This book however, tries to be funny, but it fails - a few actually funny tales with a lot of fillers. Or perhaps I just cannot reconcile with British humor.

Amazing coffee overview
Revisado: 02-15-20
As a coffee lover, I found this to be an amazing overview of coffee, coffee induced habits (oh that addiction), how coffee influences us (even though it just postpones the inevitable and suppresses sleep which is bad bad), modern coffee (hipsters much?), the preparation and industry of coffee (underpaid farmers, big profits for companies), and coffee history (this part was amazing, I had no idea that it's said that Voltaite drank up to 72 cups per day, or that the British and Arabs wanted to ban it but couldn't).
Yes, coffee is a drug. Yes, coffee influences us in both good and bad ways. Maybe next time I will think twice and order tea instead.
