Enjoyable look at one of the other characters in the series. I enjoy seeing Jane through someone else's eyes.

Fun story with some unexpected twists
Revisado: 05-09-23
Even though I was certain I knew "who done it" the minor twists to the story really gave me something to sink my teeth into. Overall a fun romp.

Fun, but probably better read in text than audio
Revisado: 05-20-21
He said... The constant repetition of, fill in appropriate speaker's name "said", got to be a bit much for me. I'm sure there is another way of indicating a change in the speaker without using, and over using, the he said trope. It makes the audio sound like something written by a middle school student. Now, I may not have even noticed that if I were reading it in text format. It's amazing the things we skim past when we read text. Things like this become visual background noise and hardly register.
Overall, I thought it was a fun story and the narrator did a great job giving a personality to each speaker. I think that is part of what made the whole thing more noticeable to me.

Zero is just one of 20,000 people aboard a spaceship bound for a new planet set to be colonized. The journey is over a century long but luckily, everyone is in stasis, so they’ll be safe and sound asleep during the trip. Everyone that is, except for Zero, whose pod has malfunctioned, waking him up a hundred years early. His initial excitement in roaming the ship alone quickly turns to a heart-stopping interstellar adventure when a family of space pirates show up, trying to hijack the ship and take the colonizers hostage.

Story was a tiny bit uneven

There were a few spots in the story that could have worked better for me, but overall this is a winner. I will definitely be reading the rest of the series.

Narration felt a bit flat
Revisado: 01-22-20
A very good story about finding love after loss. I got frustrated with Mal on more than one occasion. However, I think that's part of his dealing with David's death more than a failing of the writing. Hans was starting to seem entirely too perfect and then... he became realistic and flawed. I loved that! I wasn't so enamored with the narrator. He did a workmanlike job, but I wasn't entirely happy with his characterizations.

Narration makes this suffer
Revisado: 10-22-19
Wow, the narration on this is truly awful. Fortunately, I've also been reading the print version when I can't listen. The stories, as written, are a lot of fun. None of that emotion is present in the narration. I've listened to this narrator before and liked his work. He definitely has a great voice, but he really missed the boat on the emotions within these stories.

Narration could be better, but that's a quibble
Revisado: 10-10-19
Another quirky adventure for our editor. I want to see more of Anna, no pun intended. This ghost kicks butt. She starts out so demure, but turns out to have an interesting story and a lot of chutzpah. I really hope this isn't the last of the series. It's been fun so far.

Historia
You can’t bargain with death if you’ve already sold your soul. Special agent Patrick Collins has been reassigned by the supernatural operations agency to New York City. Navigating his new relationship with Jonothon de Vere, the werewolf he’s now soulbound to, is nothing compared to dealing with territorial disputes between the vampires and werecreatures who call the five boroughs home. But the delicate treaties that have kept the preternatural world in check are fraying at the edges, and the fallout is spilling into the mundane world.

Great story
Revisado: 10-04-19
Either the narrator is getting better, or I'm getting used to his style. It was easier to distinguish characterizations in this one. The story was great. I really like the development of the relationship between Patrick and Jono. I also liked the interactions between the different pantheons. Wade is very well done. Of course a fledgling dragon would be a petty thief. You have to start your horde somewhere!

Serviceable narration
Revisado: 09-24-19
I loved this story, but the narration was mediocre much of the way through. I alternated between listening to the Audible version and reading the Kindle version. I found the story more enjoyable and easier to follow in print. I look forward to reading the rest of the series. I wouldn't avoid this narrator in the future. In fact, I've already purchased the next book on Audible.
