Superb writing, great story and a fantastic performance - enjoyed it so much! Although the author isn’t from Wyoming he knows it well - the characters make you want to know each of them personally.

Great Story
Revisado: 03-30-24
Enjoyed the story and the twists and turns - I appreciate the author having a great ending to a book that doesn’t go out of control like many authors are prone to let happen in this genre

Ridiculous Premise to the story
Revisado: 03-27-24
The book started out with such a ridiculous opening and character development I couldn’t stand to listen. Very disappointed in the author - make it somewhat believable or get out of the genre

Historia
Ensor is no ordinary cop. He's a hero, winner of the Medal of Valor, devoted family man and coach, helping at-risk kids. But the driver who struck him down and didn't stop isn't ordinary either. He's Judge Frank Stevenson, up-and-coming member of the bench, also devoted to his wife and daughter, involved in charities and good works. In a split second he did something completely uncharacteristic that changes his life and the lives of everyone close to him.

Great Story

I thought the story was great and believable to the end. I was not a fan of the reader. His voice was irritating to me in too many of the characters

Wyoming game warden Joe Pickett faces two different kinds of raging beasts—one animal, one human—in this riveting new novel from #1 New York Times bestseller C. J. Box. A rogue grizzly bear has gone on a rampage—killing, among others, the potential fiancé of Joe’s daughter. At the same time, Dallas Cates, whom Joe helped lock up years ago, is released from prison with a special list tattooed on his skin. He wants revenge on the people who sent him away: the six people he blames for the deaths of his entire family and the loss of his reputation and property.

Another intriguing Story
Revisado: 03-03-24
Box grabs you from the start of every book. Very interesting story line with a lot of moving parts among the main characters in the Picket series. Feels like from time to time the Arthur has some meaningful events from prior books that feel conspicuously absent from the facts in the current story. Probably the accountant in me.

Gets Better at the Game End
Revisado: 02-25-24
I really struggled with the story line for 2/3 of the book. It did get better as it went but it seemed disjointed in some sections and hard to follow all the characters. The performer was excellent and easy to listen to with all the voices

Lost it at the end
Revisado: 02-09-24
I can never figure out why authors and editors lose a store right at the end. Intriguing story until the final act and then it just blows up with outrageous events - so sad. I’m so sorry for the passing of Richard Ferrone - he had a great voice and style for these books

But it’s what is in the trunk that brings Joe Gunther and his team from the Vermont Bureau of Investigation. In the trunk is the body of burglar in question—one Don Kalfus. Complicating matters, while the body was found in Vermont, it appears he was probably killed in the next state over, New Hampshire.

Revisado: 01-25-24
Watched the TV version in Prime - thought it was too far out of control. Got the book and totally enjoyed the story. I’m not a fan of the reader - Dick Hill. His voice fades out and he drops lines especially for female characters.
