Funny and romantic!

I love this series, the author and the narrator. This next generation story unites adult children from two great couples in the M&M world. Nate and Daisy were meant to be. We also get glimpses of other adult children in the M&M series. I very much look forward to more next generation books.

A book written for the fans

This book is a wonderful tribute to Sommerset’s backstory, in my opinion. I really enjoyed the reveal more about his service, his wife and warrior friends. I look forward to the next book. Narration was excellent as always.

Excellent character development and intense story

I enjoyed listening to all four books in the series. This book was the most intense and stressful in the series. The epilogue was very satisfying to reveal the future for the four families. Definitely recommended. The narration was top notch and well executed.

Entertaining series!

The story continues from the previous books with character progression, some plot resolutions, but more to come. I enjoyed the narration very much. Definitely must read / listen in order to understand the world and characters. Love the series.

Overall nice addition to the series

I enjoyed listening to this book. The female narrator was excellent as usual. While the male narrator enunciated clearly, there was something lacking a bit in his performance. I do recommend this series, but I do prefer the full length books.

Slow burn case with lots of personal touches

This book is what I call a slow burn showing how Eve and Peabody research, observe and discuss clues to identify the killer. Lots of personal life progression in Eve’s life described. I anticipate the next book will have more intensity. The narrator is awesome as always. Well done Susan!

Determined police investigators triumph over evil

I suppose after reading/listening to all the In Death books, I find the most enjoyment from reading about the key characters and their investigation processes. I’m so glad Jake and Nadine profess their love for each other. I want to read about the others as they get on with their lives too. Of course, I love to see that Roarke and Eve are devoted to each other. When will they start a family? That will end the series, of course.

Excellent wrap to the series

This was an intense series, but entertaining. Each book increased the dark themes, but each couple persevered. This final book ends on a very positive note. My one issue with the author was her reference to the male leads as boys by their women. While they were around 19 or 20, their life experiences, their working and survival deems they should be called men. In any case, I’m grateful that I could listen to the excellent narration by all the various narrators.

A good detective story solving the case

Eve shows her tenacity in this book by slogging through the details of the case. She has the innate ability to observe subtle details and facial expressions and make connections. Well done and wonderfully performed. I love the personal additions with Peabody and Mavis and the other secondary, but important characters. I hope the next book focuses more on Roark again. Definitely recommended.

Excellent continuation of book 1

I’m so glad both book 1 and 1.5 were available at Audible for members. Andres is a dark hero who is “saved” by Samantha. I may have to read/listen to book 2 which I believe features Andres’ sister. The narrator was excellent for this book. It was entertaining to listen to his POV. Definitely recommended.
