Historia
In this fifth edition of Basic Economics, Thomas Sowell revises and updates his popular book on commonsense economics, bringing the world into clearer focus through a basic understanding of the fundamental economic principles and how they explain our lives. Drawing on lively examples from around the world and from centuries of history, Sowell explains basic economic principles for the general public in plain English.

what we need to teach in schools
Revisado: 08-18-22
I have read Ayn Rand, Freedman ,Friedrich Hayek, but Thomas sowell is a true master in making very complex economics in simple terms in this book, and more, getting to the point that economics is one thing, politics (or political system) is another completely different (but related) stuff. it does not matter if you are Communist or Totalitarian or whatever... what is important is what works, and what does not work, how efficient the economic relationship are. that's what defines a rich and prosperous economy system. Ironically those are the fundaments, and most of us (me included up until this book) does have a feeling about how important they are, yet failed to summarize that concept in a clean view... minimum wage, price controls , inflation... it's all there.
strongly advise to add this book to your library, and also gift it to some friends if you have the chance.

The Big Three in Economics reveals the battle of ideas among the three most influential economists in world history: Adam Smith, representing laissez faire; Karl Marx, reflecting the radical socialist model; and John Maynard Keynes, symbolizing big government and the welfare state. History comes alive in this fascinating story of opposing views that continue to play a fundamental role in today's politics and economics.

Unexpected diamond
Revisado: 06-11-22
I really was not expecting this master piece. It's the equivalent of "Sapiens", but instead of anthropology, it's about economy. From Adam Smith to today's scenario, the author navegantes all the way with the economical theories, counter theories, the real person behind it, their motivation, their followers (and "hater") . In the end you get a taste of feeling a little smarter, understand why so many people follow those or that economics believe, and at times in history with one was "the one, and only" just to be challenged at a corner of history... sometimes winning, some time taking a having punch. Hope the listen to more books like these.
in a side note, listen to the formulas was the worse part... sometimes I find myself desperately looking for a piece of paper to write them down, just to understand visually what he was talking about.

Historia
In this engaging exploration, archaeologist Ian Hodder departs from the two prevailing modes of thought about human evolution: the older idea of constant advancement toward a civilized ideal and the newer one of a directionless process of natural selection. Instead, he proposes a theory of human evolution and history based on "entanglement," the ever-increasing mutual dependency between humans and things.

very good book. in general as good as Sapiens.
Revisado: 05-22-22
very good, as good as Sapiens and Homo Deus, but unfortunately not with the same humor (he try sometimes, but he not fun. And sometimes a little "waken" culture). In regarding to information, it's a good book about how entanglement is the main drive of the world. very good analysis.

Historia
In 1927, classical liberalism, based on a belief in individualism, reason, capitalism, and free trade, was dying, when one of the 20th century's greatest social thinkers wrote this combative and convincing restatement. Nowhere are the key principles of Mises' philosophy better represented than in this timeless work. Mises was a careful and logical theoretician who believed that ideas rule the world, and this especially comes to light in Liberalism.

existential part of ocidental education
Revisado: 05-19-22
Ever wonder why socialism makes no sense in a capital society? that's your answer: It does not. What brings freedom and prosperity always was the libertarian society... they told you that capitalism is the villain, and yet, we live in a capitalism society, and all elements of freedom of choice, and thinking, derives from it.

Not many added from the first 2 books
Revisado: 04-18-22
compared with Sapiens and Homo Deus, it does no add much, even some sentences are copy and paste. but it's a good book, narrator is super as always... its a journey that feel like a summary or author notes , from the first 2 books. you will have a good time, just don't expect to add much or be a life changing experience as they did.

Historia
In a scrap heap within an abandoned factory, the greatest invention in history lies dormant and unused. By what fatal error of judgment has its value gone unrecognized, its brilliant inventor punished rather than rewarded for his efforts? In defense of those greatest of human qualities that have made civilization possible, one man sets out to show what would happen to the world if all the heroes of innovation and industry went on strike.

as good as I expected
Revisado: 04-14-22
this is one of the best audiobooks I had the pleasure to listen. fantastic tale, and as epic as expected. the áudio is executed with excellence, mimic the voices, but just 1 narrator (with is odd for woman's voice, but very well done to mimic the soft tonality). it's simple a must listen audiobook that you had to add to your collection.
