Historia
Fred did something bad. He didn’t intend to do it, but the destruction of a dungeon core - accident or otherwise - will likely result in horrific consequences for anyone connected with the crime. And not for just the perpetrators; everyone around them will suffer vengeful retribution from the nearby cores for the unthinkable act. Knowing that his mistake will end up endangering his new friends, the townspeople of Gatecross, and even his Guild, Core Power, Fred decides to do whatever he can to protect them.

Good maybe great book
Revisado: 08-15-19
I really enjoyed this book with one single caveat; why do so many authors make unique characters, but can’t resist eventually ruining it by making others with their abilities? I’m not positive but my money is on Issa or however you spell her name now being the same if lesser than Fred. Predictable, and basically what to expect because nearly every author decides to water down their lead characters by diluting what makes them interesting. I was disappointed by this but I’ll wait for the next book to see if I jumped to conclusions. Don’t let this put you off, this was a very good second book.

Historia
Only five days have passed since Jade was brought to a distant world and a new life. Mobile for the first time ever, Jade is given the chance to do something she’s always wanted: attend school. Dracona isn’t your typical school, however. In Andara she needs to learn all the skills an adventurer needs. For her, that means how to cast magic and use weapons without hurting herself. She’ll have to learn fast because the obstacle course isn’t the only thing challenging her progress; she’s racing against the clock to learn how to beat the Mesmer before they find her.

Really terrible main character
Revisado: 06-07-19
I can't personally advise anyone buy these books, they are pretty mediocre at best, and I apologize to the author for having to say that. I have read/listened to a great many books, and this might be the most unpleasant main character I have ever come across. She is immature, conceited, rude and quite frankly an insult to the planet she comes from, ours. I have never seen a character vacillate between friendly and outright rude and immature so often. This is also the second book where literally nothing has happened. She thinks she knows everything, is better than everyone else and can act any way she wants with no consequences. I don't believe this is the way actual living human beings would act.
There has been no world building in two books, I can't tell you what kingdom they are in, the ruling family seems to have no duties or responsibilities, and there is nothing to explain the political or social structure. Nobody has any intellectual interest in the world she comes from, nor the things she creates, beyond lip service.
Ultimately these are extremely shallow books that mostly amount to a teenage high school angst story with little to no plot to speak of. The first book spent a decent amount of time going through the system she uses for her abilities etc, the second book almost entirely forgot this and instead the focus shifted to the main characters social life.
If the author insists on subjugating their audience to a third book, I desperately hope they spend some time on world building, because so far the world she lives in now is paper thin.

Simple story with little depth
Revisado: 05-27-19
I was fine with the first book, it was okay, not wonderful but I was going along okay, The second book was fine until the last hour or so when the cliche's become too much to handle. The coincidences go beyond the absurd, and ultimately was too predictable and trite for me to hang with these any longer. I'll refund book 3, I would rather not know how this story ends, my advice to any authors who are writing books, don't set up two impossible characters to run into each other by coincidence, and somehow become sworn enemies/love interests, in a universe of trillions of people. It's absurd and insulting to the reader's intelligence.
