Good if you like Garro
Revisado: 02-06-23
Honestly just haven't been a fan of the garro series and don't get the hype. He is to much of a straight up paladin for the 40k setting with no shades of grey in a book funnily enough called knight of grey. I know he is a very popular character he is just over hyped and a mary sue.

Good narrator, author is full of himself.

It's an interesting perspective but this guy is the same guy wanting to shut down stores from people wanting to better their lives. He spends multiple sections of the book talking about wanting to take away breakfast sandwiches from a coffee shop and being smug about it. Or burning coffee and saying it's bold, no bold coffee is a descriptor of other flavor profiles not a flavor profile in itself.

I would put this about in the middle of all of the primarch novels it is just ok, worth a read if you are into blood angels or want to read all 20 of the books but otherwise it is just ok.

Historia
Most children go through a dinosaur phase. Learning all the tongue-twisting names, picking favourites based on ferocity, armour, or sheer size. For many kids this love of ‘terrible lizards’ fizzles out at some point between starting and leaving primary school. All those fancy names slowly forgotten, no longer any need for a favourite. For all those child dino fanatics who didn’t grow up to become paleontologists, dinosaurs seem like something out of mythology. They are dragons, pictures in books, abstract, other, extinct.

Good but could have been better as a docu series
Revisado: 07-01-22
Narrator kept saying look at that, or talked about seeing things without describing them, it was good but lead me to look up what these things looked like often. so it could have been better as a visual storytelling compared to one with just audio.

Historia
The Titanic collided with an iceberg on the night of April 14, and 1,500 people died in the freezing waters as the ship met her watery grave. Spectacular in many ways, it's a story that has spurred legends and still sends shivers down the spine a century later. This minute-by-minute account of the sinking is based on over 20 years of research and offers amazing detail of that fateful night.

An almost great end to a great trilogy
Revisado: 08-12-19
I really did like this trilogy overall. However the novel seemed very short, and for those who didn't want to watch the star wars rebels TV series some things may seem odd. I hope there is a follow up trilogy or duology like with the original series. some things felt off as well such as Eli and Faro never speaking to each other about what has happened in the mean time.

Historia
Frank Herbert's Dune is one of the grandest epics in the annals of imaginative literature. Now Herbert's son, Brian, working with Kevin J. Anderson and using Frank Herbert's own notes, reveals a pivotal epoch in the history of the Dune universe: the Butlerian Jihad, the war that was fought ten thousand years before the events of Dune - the war in which humans wrested their freedom from "thinking machines."

Scott Brick is one of the few redeeming qualities
Revisado: 07-12-19
First off Scott Brick is the main redeeming quality of this novel. the novel itself is a a bad fan fiction of the original work. While I don't doubt that Brian and Kevin found notes about dune in Frank's storage. I doubt this is close to what was envisioned. The phrase from Pixar's the incredibles rings true here when everyone is super no one is. There are no character flaws to overcome, no philosophical debates, no twisting of what is expected, it just happens. I read the paperback of this book over a couple days a few years ago and it seemed ok back then but I can't finish this on a reread there is nothing worth holding me there.
Good plot points: the Titans: a small group of humans who used technology to overthrow an empire and enslave humanity, Awesome. Erasmus: an ai who is in a twisted way trying to understand humanity while not caring about humanity.
Bad plot points: Every character is the same. The bene gesserit are telepathic witches ( that's the point they aren't!) . Ominus is just a generic evil villain. No philosophical debates. Poor writing. Way to long. I could go on but no point.
TLDR read the Wikipedia article and skip this.
