Historia
Clanton, Mississippi. 1990. Jake Brigance finds himself embroiled in a deeply divisive trial when the court appoints him attorney for Drew Gamble, a timid sixteen-year-old boy accused of murdering a local deputy. Many in Clanton want a swift trial and the death penalty, but Brigance digs in and discovers that there is more to the story than meets the eye. Jake’s fierce commitment to saving Drew from the gas chamber puts his career, his financial security, and the safety of his family on the line.

Mississippi you’re on my mind
Revisado: 04-06-24
The characters are alive in my mind, as if they’re people I know. The good and the bad are finely drawn and believable. Thank you, Mr. Grisham. I love novels set in the South. I live in the South and love it. My only criticism is that the narrator over-drawls the speech of the characters a bit too much. The people I currently know in Mississippi don’t drawl as much as they used to in the past. That’s a small point, and those who don’t live in the South won’t hear the difference. Overall, the narrator does a good job.

Action packed!
Revisado: 07-04-23
Fast paced, gripping and suspenseful story, featuring a genuinely fearless yet feminine heroine. If this sounds appealing to you, then don’t hesitate to listen to this Dean Koontz adventure. I hope a sequel is planned, but it’s really unnecessary.

Historia
Realm of Dragons (Age of the Sorcerers book one) tells the story of the epic coming of age of one very special 16-year-old boy, a blacksmith’s son from a poor family who is offered no chance of proving his fighting skills and breaking into the ranks of the nobles. Yet he holds a power he cannot deny, and a fate he must follow. It tells the story of a 17-year-old princess on the eve of her wedding, destined for greatness - and of her younger sister, rejected by her family and dying of plague.

An outline
Revisado: 05-28-23
Much promise but with incomplete delivery. It’s like the outline of an epic story—many interesting characters not fleshed out. It’s a good story, good characters. There are more books in a series, but I probably won’t buy them. Audiobooks are expensive. I expect more than an online.

Koontz’ sweetest story
Revisado: 04-21-23
Watchers has all of the breathless suspense, and all of the interesting characters Koontz’ fans expect. However, it’s the story that is the biggest gift to his readers, because Watchers is the sweetest story ever. Thank you, Dean Koontz.

Very dark and getting darker
Revisado: 04-16-23
So many dark turns! After each turn, the floor drops and you’re even deeper in a twisting plot that is relentlessly tense. I could not stop listening. I was surprised by the story. I’ve been reading Dean Koontz for decades, so I’m familiar with his style. His characters are always warmly different, except for the bad guys. But, they’re exceptionally in Elsewhere. I will listen to Elsewhere again. Excellent book.

The only question is whether he controls the blade or the blade him. With an insidious evil lurking in the shadows, the answer may very well determine the fate of all Kingfall.

It is a crucial time in the war-torn kingdoms of Wendar and Varre, a moment when even one wrong decision can tilt the balance of events into total disaster. For Sanglant - King Henry's son - and Liath - the woman he loves - the offer of both a haven from their enemies and the chance for Liath to study the ancient lore with those who claim her as their own seems like the answer they have been seeking. One of the best epic fantasy series I’ve ever read. Characters are complex and well developed. It doesn’t have the mystical beauty of LOTR, but it is deep and rich in detail.

Torn by internal strife, Wendar faces deadly raids from the north by an inhuman race, the Eika. And now terrifying portents are being seen; old ruins restored to life under the light of the full moon and peopled by the long-vanished Lost Ones; dark spirits walking the land in broad daylight.
