Historia
Two women develop a groundbreaking surgery: the Cesarean section. It's a highly dangerous procedure and the research is grueling, but even worse is the vitriolic response from men. Most don't trust the findings of women, and many can choose to deny their wives medical care. Already facing resistance on all sides, Nora is shaken when she meets a patient who will die without the surgery. If the procedure is successful, her work could change the world. But a failure could cost everything: precious lives, Nora's career, and the role women will be allowed to play in medicine.

Finished it in two days! I could not put it down
Revisado: 03-28-25
So good. Frequently the sequel is not as good but I liked it just as much. Felt like they were just finishing the story.

Historia
The town of Stone in the Glen used to be lovely, but it hasn’t been so in a very long time. Once a celebrated town with a vibrant town square, prosperous businesses and families, and educated, happy children, Stone in the Glen has fallen on hard times. Since the expansive and beloved Library burned with other buildings in a time of terrible fires, the town has been plagued by droughts, blight, and destruction. But the people have continued to put their faith in the Mayor, a dazzling fellow with golden hair and brilliant white teeth who promises that he alone can solve their problems.

Cute and meaningful story
Revisado: 03-26-25
The person reading this reads very slow. I had to buy it on audible so that I could speed up the speed to 1.7. Cute story.

Historia
Rescued from a pandemic’s wreckage and raised by the eccentric surgeon Dr. Horace Croft, orphan Nora Beady cares little for Victorian conventions. While other young ladies busy themselves with needlework and watercolors, Nora perfects her sutures and anatomical illustrations. Women face dire consequences if caught practicing medicine, but in Croft’s private clinic, Nora is his most trusted - and secret - assistant. That is, until the new surgical resident, Dr. Daniel Gibson, arrives.

Loved all the interesting characters
Revisado: 03-26-25
This didn’t feel like a story retold that we’ve all already read. Loved all the characters and hated them all at some points too. Wonderfully told. I’m excited to read the next one.
