Very interesting but fairly dry. It was good to listen to it in short bits, as again it was a lot of facts and information which could be dry. A PDF really should have been included for the photographs as this was such a large portion of the narrative

really enjoyed the third installment of the GC London series. The town of Dimly is full of the most creative characters I've read in a long time. Interesting and adventurous plot and great narration.

I really enjoyed this book. Even with magic and talking cats it's not a 'young adult' story, much more urban fantasy. everything adds up to a promising start for a series

I love all of the Lady Hardcastle books, but some stories are a little better than others. This is the best one so far with all the old characters and a couple of new ones. I enjoyed hearing more of Flo's history with the circus. Can't wait for the next adventure!

Amazing story, narration annoying

The story is incredible-epic in length, scope, and beauty of writing. The changing timeline of the main character was at times a bit frustrating, mostly because I became involved in that time line and It did take a bit to adjust back to the new timeline of the character. Overall the world building and sheer scale of the book is impressive, even more so when taking into account the beauty of Virdi's style.


The narration is annoying, some of the characters voices (mostly the women) hurt to listen to. I almost stopped a couple of times but the story was good enough I continued. By the end I won't say the narration grew on me, just annoyed me a little less.

One dimensional characters

Started out fairly interesting, but quickly became tiresome. The characters are one-dimensional and unbelievable and the plot doesn't go anywhere. Struggled to finish hoping for some kind of payoff, but there wasn't one.
