More for the LGBTQ+ Community

I have zero issue with LGBTQ....but I simply can't relate to the characters.

Thrilling Surprise
Revisado: 04-25-23
I don't read detective novels anymore. They simply don't surprise me. I can usually figure out the end in the first quarter of the book. But this! I was compelled to listen as much as I could.....hated having to turn it off!
If you're a fiction junkie like me and always chasing the dragon, so to speak....you will want to give this one a go.

Historia
The narrator of Atwood's riveting novel calls himself Snowman. When the story opens, he is sleeping in a tree, wearing an old bedsheet, mourning the loss of his beloved Oryx and his best friend Crake, and slowly starving to death. He searches for supplies in a wasteland where insects proliferate and pigoons and wolvogs ravage the pleeblands, where ordinary people once lived, and the Compounds that sheltered the extraordinary. As he tries to piece together what has taken place, the narrative shifts to decades earlier. How did everything fall apart so quickly?

Very Entertaining
Revisado: 09-05-21
Good storyline. Very good character development. Nicely narrated. Good read.
However, it is a bit predictable at times and then at other times it goes way too far into the details of intimacy between two of the main characters. The sort of mushy stuff I just don't like but others may.
More than anything I was very entertained and it kept me coming back everytime I had a free moment to listen.

Some Untrue Reviews
Revisado: 07-16-21
After reading one person's review indicaring that Dean Koontz had gone racist in his old age made me actually purchase. I could not disagree more. Again, narratives and all that.....racist being such a buzz word. I marked the review as Not Helpful as it is completely without substance. I am a woman of color and I'm calling BS on that other review.
I liked the storyline a lot. I think it is more current writing then something the author had in his mysterious trunk of old yet unpublished stories. In the search for truth, the main character will likely remind readers of just how much we need more truth in the world.
it's also a story of bad guys and heroes. it's a story of the most egregious sadness mixed with elated Joy. As a reader you may identify with the hero, the bad guys, or the ones who need help. Either way, the author does a very good job of character development given the short story style of each chapter.
like most of the author's books, this is a very easy read. Not complicated, not fantastical, but also not predictable. Nicely done.

A Decent Read
Revisado: 10-19-20
Good story and good performance. Although I was compelled to listen as it was interesting, the story did little to evoke any emotion. However, I intend to listen to Practical Magic.....at some point......but won't be rushing to it next.
