Yes, I am a Republican but this book does not reflect a political overtone or undertone for that matter. This is truly a book written by a daughter who wants to share the lessons her father, and mother, taught her. I was very surprised how much wisdom was imparted. She never had a negative word regarding anyone. The only negative I have to say is that she does not express any emotion, fairly monotone. This makes listening to a little dull. However, the words are wonderfully written and worth it. My cousin is reading the hard copy and I think that is a good way to go if you have the time. I listen while I am driving to work. But overall the content is excellent! If you are from an opposing political party - you will still like it!!! Take the chance.

She starts off by saying that she wants this to be a conversation. And she succeeded!! Even if you are not a fan of This is Us this book will gently walk you through Chrissy's life while giving you life advice that is usable and kind. She reads the words as she would speak them to you. Excitement when excited, sad when sad and so on. I have listened to it twice now!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
First I really enjoyed hearing both Joanna and Chip reading the book. Second it was very well written and not just words. It does have Christian overtones which I find awesome in this day and age where any mention of Christianity is shunned. Their story expresses what trusting God can truly do for us. But it is not preachy at all and if you are not Christian you can still glean out of it that living a positive life can work out for the best. Their challenges, their successes all lead to a positive outcome!!! Great to listen to and to read!!
