Historia
We are all haunted in some way or another. From the warnings we did not heed, to the 'might have beens', to the ghosts who stalk us on the way home, it is rare we end our lives without a spirit in our periphery. Join me as we dive, yet again, into the dark and disturbing realms of the mind. It is time to speak To Those Who Haunt You.

Great Stories, Fantastic Narration
Revisado: 01-08-25
Let me preface this by saying I am not a horror fan, I don't watch slasher flicks, and I feel no urge to give myself an existential crisis or two with horrors of the cosmic variety.
That said, I loved this anthology.
The narrator does a lot to bring these excellent vignettes to life. Not a one is longer than 15 minutes and most are ten and under, yet they manage to pack more story, character, and plot than Jeff Bezos managed to get for $1 Billion. Each character has a unique voice within the story and there's plenty of heart and emotion in the performances he gives.
But narration, not matter how good, is nothing but pretty noise without substance if the words being spun like aural honey are only so much drek. Let me assure you, drek is not to be found here, save for when it appears in story. I wish I had the wit and expansive vocabulary to wax on for pages and pages about how much I enjoyed these stories, especially "His Last Voyage" and "Overdue," but alas, I do not, even if the events of the past few days have left me drained. Thus, I hope that these words shall be sufficient. The text is evocative without lapsing into the banality of lurid purple prose. The characters are distinct and well fleshed out especially given the limitations of the word count many of these have. The plots are engaging with delightfully dark twists and turns. If this is the quality of Mrs. Hazel's other works, then I look forward to reading the ones I have sitting my shelf when I get around to them.
As I said at the beginning, I am no horror fan, but even a man such as myself that enjoys the happy, joyful, and pleasant stories out there to be found likes to be spooked every now and then. This was a delightful listen and I am very much looking forward to reading the other books I have purchased.
