Historia
Ten-year-old Jas lives with her strictly religious parents and her siblings on a dairy farm where waste and frivolity are akin to sin. Despite the dreary routine of their days, Jas has a unique way of experiencing her world: her face soft like cheese under her mother’s hands; the texture of green warts, like capers, on migrating toads in the village; the sound of “blush words” that aren’t in the Bible. One icy morning, the disciplined rhythm of her family’s life is ruptured by a tragic accident, and Jas is convinced she is to blame.

an in-depth look at the character and her life and environment. sadly unable to resonate with a ten year old who is being abused and harassed by all around her. seemed a bit over the top and cruel could never imagine letting my kids behave this way.

this brilliant book
Revisado: 06-16-20
I have never lived in Europe, visited Italy, not have I travelled back in time to the 50s and 60s. this book has changed those and made me feel like I have.
a very thorough in depth and packed with emotional realism that I seldom read. I have watched this show as well and both have their own strengths. I can only recommend this and do, to those I know And anyone in between. I feel it's a friendship story like no other, maybe without the flare or fun you may find in other novels but this one takes good of your thoughts and mind and you care and feel for those inside this story. I look forward to the next one and will shortly be listening to it as well.
