I loved the story .... but what threw me was the female voice accent. Not pronouncing words correctly (various r, g , and the word immediately) and the whole breathless whisper in the ear gets annoying. The male was fantastic!

ok so I got this complete series for 1 credit . I didnt even finish book 2 of how ever many there are. How are you going to make the female lead a badass but whine like a child the whole time!! The whinning was way too much. ugh I hate it when authors do this. If you want to make her a badass please do and cut the child bullshit. I'm pissed!

Absolutely love the story but ....

The story is amazing. I really enjoyed it. My problem is the narrator.... ugh!!! She talked regularly, and then the next sentence was a freaking whisper!!! up down up down the whole story, she did this. I cringed every time she whispered in my ear. I quit after chapter 5 but then continued because the story was good. but couldn't listen with my buds. The whispering in my ear just annoyed me and got to me so bad, like nails on a chalkboard. I will not listen to anything else she reads .. sorry, but no, you can't just whisper in my ear. All the whispering didn't even make sense!!

Boring...

I got the series as a whole for 1 credit. I quit listening by book two. The story is just boring. Just wasn't my taste. plus the soft spoken all the time was annoying. The narrator seemed to have one speed and it came off as boring. if you like sweet and slow I recommend.

I loved the first book and was hoping the lead female would just grow into being a strong female. nope... we are just going to keep saying I'm an alpha but doesn't act like one !!!! If you're going to say it ACT LIKE IT. Instead of another female that relies on men to save you. I was hoping this one would be different because she turns into a great creature. If you're going to claim to be a badass, be one don't just voice it and still be a whimp and have a men constantly help you.
If women writers want to make their females independent and strong, please do so and quit, making them dependent on men. And have no growth to become a strong woman.
The males stay the same and just grow close to her, but the female stays whiny and unimpressive.

I loved the story, BUT I can not get past the FMC, so damn whiny. ugh. I get she has damaged, but this is taking it way too far. I also usually love Bridget and her performances, but this one threw me off the course. I can't do it!!!! the perpetual whiny little girl is annoying. it hurts my ears. you are supposed to get strong from pain and hurt, but this girl just stays pathetic, no backbone. if it had a stronger lead this would be such a better story. it would be just amazing and a voice that wasn't just grating my nerves.

I loved the book but ...

I loved the book and story. Yea, it's a little odd to have a grown man voicing a 21 yr old female. The problem I had was meekness of the FMC. By not being able to piece anything together quicker when she's supposed to be smart. And just looking like a clueless idiot. I think it's the way she is presented as hopeless and not a strong female. Just author that writes a woman as kinda ditzy, meek, and in the end depends on men.

I can not stand the female voice actor heavy breathing . I have listened to plenty of audio books, but for some reason, her taking breaths is so audible and loud. People screaming on books aren't even as load as her just speaking intake. I can't do it! I stopped and just read it. Heavy breathing in my ears is a no no.

How does the female get worse....

I usually love this authors books. But this chick is constantly talking about being a badass, but she constantly turns into a baby and can't take care of herself. She's supposed to have badass lineage but is still weak and gets more annoying. Always depending on men to save her. By now, she should have figured out something instead of whinning. The voice actors are amazing in this series as they usually are in their performances. Hate it when a story has such potential, but it just kinda hits a wall, and the character shows no growth and just makes me not to want to finish the series.

why does this grown woman sound like a child.....

The book was not horrible. What got me was the voice actors. Especially the female. When she needs inflection in her response, she barely sqeaks them out, and on top of that, when she talks to the males, she sounds like a 5 year old child!! If the whole trying to be cute thing annoys you when a grown female is talking, please don't buy this. All the men are the same. He's not horrible it just all are the same voice, and I would get confused about which one was talking out of 3. It would probably be better read on own terms. I just strongly dislike a woman sounding like a child it's unnerving. She talks about being a strong, independent woman. The voice actress should sound like one.
