Historia
Natalie Queiroz was eight months pregnant when she was stabbed by her partner in the most vicious attack imaginable. In the space of nine minutes, and in broad daylight, Natalie was stabbed 24 times with a carving knife. She suffered horrific wounds to her lungs, liver, stomach and uterus, whilst the knife missed her baby by a margin of two millimetres, before the arteries in her wrists were methodically severed by the attacker she finally realised was her partner. After heroic intervention by passers-by and police, the attack was brought to an end, but her ordeal was not over.

Historia
Guilty Admissions weaves together the story of an unscrupulous college counselor named Rick Singer, and how he preyed on the desperation of some of the country's wealthiest families living in a world defined by fierce competition, who function under constant pressure to get into the "right" schools, starting with preschool; nonstop fundraising and donation demands in the form of multi-million-dollar galas and private parties; and a community of deeply insecure parents who will do anything to get their kids into name-brand colleges in order to maintain their own A-list status.

Historia
While it's tough to understand what leads a person into addiction - to witness someone you love kind-of kill herself - the truth is that you can learn from it. By the time Céline died at age 30, she was Kermit The Frog green and she vomited blood more frequently than she was able to eat. In less than a decade, she had gone from summa cum laude Columbia graduate to NYU PhD student to unemployed, rambling, stumbling drunk saddled with a cirrhotic liver beyond repair.

interesting story, important message
Revisado: 03-13-21
this writer is mediocre but has some skill. her narration is abysmal and almost unlistenable for me. she has the strangest affect - at times slow and flat, and then suddenly fast and excited and garbled - even in the same sentence. she uses emphasis where it is unexpected and unneeded. her writing is also full of odd details, which are a distraction. clearly, not without talent and a very important story to tell but the narration is just awful.

great story
Revisado: 06-14-20
this is a good and well written story. lots of detail and at times it is too much detail or too repetitive. the narration was awful. the narrators voice was ok but he over-enunciates and the faux-accebts and fake feminized inflection is embarrassingly bad. Still a well-told story
