I’m a huge fan of Hannah and this one was probably my favorite one so far. Her books always make me feel so many different emotions. I love how descriptive she is without droning on and on. I find myself always digging deeper into a time, place, subject etc after reading one of her books. This one had me from the beginning and just got better with each chapter.

Listened to entire series in a week….

I started off with book one being a little let down by how I predicted several of the twists and turns but by the end of this book I was very happy that I kept going. Of course it was over the top and unbelievable. I also didn’t get very invested in any particular character but even with all that said I REALLY ENJOYED THE ENTIRE SERIES!

If you’re looking for something that is easy to follow and has twists and turns you sometimes see coming but several times don’t as well as a really nice ending I recommend this series.

My biggest complaint is I wish I had waited until I was on a long road trip to listen to the series. It would have been a great way to pass all those miles.

Seriously wanted to enjoy this one. I’ve listened to several of this authors books and enjoyed them but this was really bad. No idea why she thought this would be believable at all. So many confusing questions that she tied up with a completely unbelievably ridiculous story. Honestly just glad it’s over.

I’ve been considering listening to this audiobook for quite some time but kept putting it off because of some reviews that mentioned the rape in the book. I just don’t usually read books with that content. I’m very glad that I finally listened to this one. I would caution anyone who is triggered by abuse that this book is hard to listen to and all readers should be aware. With that out of the way I loved how well written the characters were. The main character in particular was the perfect mix of a very realistic woman who had endured trauma but who wasn’t comfortable at all with being labeled a victim. I was also very impressed by the ending. Overall one of the better books I’ve listened to this year.

These books by Lyons are great. I grew up in the river bottoms around Fouke Ar. These stories reflect what I grew up smelling, hearing and sometimes seeing. When you know you know.

The worst!

I’ve listened to a few of these books by this author and they weren’t fabulous but this one was horrible. The narration is so cringey that I can’t even get past a few minutes. Do not waste your money.
