new interesting twist

This book is different than the previous. giving a new take on old "old" characters. everything tied in well. fast paced. it gives a different feel because you know the eventual end. I throughly enjoyed this book. it does seem to be hit or miss for audiences though.

great start to a great series

I enjoyed the fast paced introduction to the world. there is a lot of so mystery as the MC explores and is introduced to different scenarios. enjoyed the characters' personalities and banter. school in books can get tedious but this was well articulated.

I love a new perspective from a character we love. Avalon is smart and driven. Genuinely honest and simple. I enjoyed his humor and banter. wish the book was longer and hope for more books from his perspective. I also enjoyed the love interest and meet-cute.

better than the last book

In the last book i couldn't understand the raw attraction Eden still felt for her "prince". By the end of this book I was rooting for another chance. Action and emotion was well expressed. The main character can still be really annoying but the side characters are defined.

Had high hopes

The first book was great. Teen drama, confusion, frustration, love. Second book I really hated the relationship with the prince. The main character had very little self respect and it felt like an abusive relationship with no build up or understanding. Just immediate physical(and magical) love(as a side piece). . .
I expected the ending. I was really excited for this book, liking the angry, rock bottom, forced to lead her people story. But MAN is this girl frustrating. She is reckless, emotional and unbearable. I can't begin to understand her "weakness" to someone who betrayed, cheated, manipulated, and destroyed her whole world; oh ya, and was involved in killing and torturing her family and friends. The prince is a stubborn, self righteous, spoiled, selfish brat who can't understand other's feelings. Granted, this is a long series. If the main character develops into an incredible, powerful, wise leader with respect for herself and her people it will be worth it.
