Historia
Rade Galaal enrolls in the hardest military training known to man to become a member of the MOTHs, the most elite fighting unit in the galaxy. MOTHs are tacticians, corpsmen, snipers, astronauts, and commandos rolled into one. They also happen to pilot the atomic-powered ATLAS mechs, specialized military hardware that brings new meaning to the phrase "one-man-army".

Dissapointed about this story
Revisado: 12-07-14
What disappointed you about Atlas?
There was nothing very interesting about this book. The training sessions were lifted from special forces training and the characters were flat. I never managed to care about any of them.
Would you ever listen to anything by Isaac Hooke again?
I always keep an open mind. I just didn't think this story was very entertaining.
Would you be willing to try another one of Rhett Samuel Price’s performances?
yes
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Atlas?
The entire basic training section.
Any additional comments?
If you like this type of story then I would purchase Armor, by John Steakley or the ever timeless Starship Troopers, by R. Heinlein. Both of these are far better reads than Atlas.

Historia
HARLIE is the first self-aware intelligence engine. But instead of answers, he has questions—too many questions, and most of his questions have no answers at all. First published in 1972, When HARLIE Was One was immediately hailed as a groundbreaking debut novel, examining the most fundamental question of all: What does it mean to be human?

An interesting read about fundamental truths
Revisado: 10-27-14
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
This is an interesting book about what it means to be human. Written many years ago, the story still stands the test of time even if the technology does not. There are plot lines that made perfect sense when it was written that seem implausible today. It's still a great story with brilliant characters.
Who was your favorite character and why?
HARLIE was my favorite. Nothing like a wise ass computer.. er.. silicone intelligence.
Which scene was your favorite?
The ending of course.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I've read the book several times and it would have been nice to listen in one sitting.
Any additional comments?
I so wish that a sequel would be written taking into account the advances in technology and social changes that have taken place.
