Historia
Born to a Magical Fantasy Princess and a nine-to-five Supervillain in the most superhero riddled city in the world, Perry's never felt...adequate. He's got no talent for magic, and not a scrap of superpowers to his name. When The System boots and unlocks his powers, it forces him to follow in his father's footsteps, but he'd rather take after his mother... Maybe there's a way he can do both...

Amazing narration

Really enjoyed this. Imagine steelheart but the humor is actually good.
The narration is top tier, couldn't imagine it being any better.

Historia
Felix's life on Earth had become a series of dead-end jobs, ruined relationships, and rotating apartments smaller than most postage stamps. By all accounts, even his own, he was a coward. Too afraid to move forward, to take risks. Yet when given the chance to choose between risking his life or walking away from a deadly encounter, he didn't hesitate. Moments before his untimely demise, Felix was snatched from earth and thrust into a magical world known only as "The Continent". Empowered by the "System", he learns that he can strengthen himself through combat and dedication.

Would be 10x better if 95% of stats/titles/skills were deleted
Revisado: 02-07-24
This is one of those littpgs where if the protagonists even farts with intention he will get a skill and 3 titles for it. They'll have no impact on the story but will fill pages and hours of narration.
The story itself seems ok, good even, it's just bloated with non impactful system blather. Cut out most of it, leave just the meaningful bits and it would be a lot better
Travis Baldree remains an S tier narrator, a perfect narration as normal.

Historia
Reidon Ward's first semester at the Galens Institute hasn't been without reward. In just over half a year he's gone from the weakest cadet at school to one of the strongest in his class, and there's no one left who would argue that his Device, Shido, isn't the most terrifying CAD they've ever laid eyes on. Still, Rei knows that his climb has barely begun, like he knows that the true fight is only just starting. After all… The Sectionals tournament has arrived. Rei, along with Aria, Viv, Catcher, and a couple unexpected squadmates, are about to face the first real battle of their careers.

A good book that needs 1/3rd chopped off
Revisado: 11-06-23
The story and performances is good, Comparable to book one. Its just that scenes, especially the dialogue heavy ones drag way too long. The conclusion of conversations are obvious in 30 seconds but drag literally half an hour accomplishing nothing. This needs some brutally honest editing

Historia
This is a tale that used to be about dungeons... Now it's mostly about walking in the woods with a friend, looking for mushrooms to put in your soup. Maybe haggling with the squash seller, or taking care of a neglected garden, or even just putting some jam on a good shortbread biscuit. And yes, sometimes you still go down into the dungeons with your friends, and kill monsters there, disarm traps, avoid spiked pits etcetera, etcetera. But when you come out now, it's not really about the gold and loot.

I enjoy slice of life but this isn't for me
Revisado: 10-02-23
I'll start with the narration. It's just OK. A couple voices sound the same, but it's mostly fairly lifeless and devoid of excitement. It also is a bit airy/nasal for several voices.
The story though is just slow. Hours in and I have no hooks at all beyond wondering why all the characters feel shallow and completely uninformed about the world they live in.
If I had to describe the feel of this story it would be that all the characters feel like they are wandering around in a self medicated haze.
If you're looking for something like beware of chicken, this isn't that.

Historia
Alexander and his growing legion have managed to escape Nova Roma and, more importantly, learned that the rest of the world may not be as ravaged by monsters as they had all thought. Join them as they set sail for ancient Venice, the Queen of the Adriatic, to try to learn more about the wider world outside Nova Roma. Along the way, they'll encounter a growing plague of deadly pirates, deceitful old merchant families out to quash any new competitors in the region, mysterious new allies, and much more.

Not as good as book 1
Revisado: 11-01-22
Performance wise... I do not enjoy most of the voices for the secondary characters which are more prevalence in this book. The accents are distracting.
Story wise, this feels meandering and directionless. Its also getting more difficult to ignore the lack of supporting narrative around this huge group surviving and building a settlement.
The main character being an AI is also completely ignored. He's just a guy with potentially sketchy morals. Waste of a premise
It's still OK but I wouldn't pick up a book 3 without reading reviews first.

Audio needs to be redone
Revisado: 06-07-21
Story is as great as usual. The audio however is full of issues. The performance is fine, but it sounds like random sections were recorded with a different microphone so audio randomly shifts pitch /tone.

Great / consistent voice acting & a fun story

I really enjoyed listening to this and Im normally not one for audio books. The recording is done well and the voices are consistent across characters.
The story was good and I'm looking forward to 2 & 3
