Great story, fantastic narration

First of all, the ladies that performed this book were exceptional narrators. I also really enjoyed the story itself. I thought it was ging to be a depressing read, but really like this author and read it anyway. It was a great story. I have to think that many of the critical reviews are based in a philosophical difference of opinion on an individual's free will vs. inevitability.

Excellent

This was a fresh spin on the old whodunit mystery, but it was more than that. It was also peek into the life of a young black man in the United States. This story was as heart wrenching as it was exciting to listen to. It was the best and most interesting story that I've listened to in a while.

The story was more silly than funny--a lot of coincidences coupled with unchecked impulse control. I did enjoy the narrator's style.

Good story, but could have used a bit of editing...

I like Eve Chase's storytelling, but there were a lot of distractionin this one. I enjoyed the story itself, but there were so many similes that it they became a bit distracting and almost comical. Also, a typical 4-year-old doesn't speak in 3rd person and sentence fragments. That is suggestive of a developmental delay that I don't think the author intended. Overall, it was an entertaining story, but could have used some polishing prior to release.

A happy, sad ,earnest, sweet story about how our teenage struggles shape who we are. I could see this book being added to high school curriculums.

Frustrating Story Line

The bones of the story are good and had a promising premise, but the characters are somewhat dimwitted and the plot lines are so improbable that they are frustrating to follow. There was so much suspension of belief as to how most people would conduct themselves versus how these characters behaved that it just took away from what could have been a really good book.

Another Lovely Bittersweet Story

I really enjoy the way that Andy Abramowitz writes. His stories are heartfelt and very funny at the same time. My only criticism of this audiobook is that the narrator, who was very enjoyable to listen to, mispronounced several things that the editors should have caught.

A Well Executed and Creative Mystery
